Tập 3 Số 3 - Trang 220-235 - 2019
The theoretical model illustrates the relationship between the implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on customer loyalty in the banking industry through intermediary variables that are bank reputation and customer trust. The research was conducted in two stages. The first one is preliminary research that seeks to adjust and modify observed variables used in previous studies to fit the context of banking products in Da Lat City. Preliminary qualitative method was carried out via direct interviews with bank managers and customers in Da Lat City and preliminary quantitative research was conducted via a structured survey with a sample size of 150. The purpose of this stage is to evaluate the reliability and the monotonicity of the scale using SPSS 20 software. The main research was conducted via a detail structured survey with 350 customers in Da Lat City to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scale and test the hypotheses of the research model. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) was performed on AMOS 20 software. The results indicate that three CSR activities of banks have a direct impact on their reputation which affects trust and trust, in turn, affects customer loyalty. Some suggestions for the bank managers were also proposed.

Corporate social responsibility and firm financial performance: A literature review
Tập 4 Số 3 - Trang 833-850 - 2020
This paper aims to investigate the literature on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to provide a comprehensive overview of whether CSR would make a difference to organisational financial outcomes. The paper also provides a closer focus on CSR research in Vietnam. Through an extensive analysis of 86 most recent empirical studies from 2015 to 2020, we found that the contribution of CSR to firm financial performance has received significant support from the literature. Yet the overall findings are still inconsistent, and the majority of evidence is mainly from developed countries. The current literature on CSR and firm performance highlights some important issues, ranging from theoretical background, CSR measures, methodological issues, the need to consider intervening factors in CSR-firm performance relationship, and the need to extend this literature further in developing and emerging countries. The literature on CSR-firm performance research in Vietnam closely resembles these problems. Research in this country domain is still scarce in both quantity and quality, reflecting in a number of issues including the limited number of international publications, the absence of theory-driven research, and the less rigorous research design. Building on these findings, we recommend future research to (i) adopt the multi-theoretical approach for a more extensive view on whether and how CSR contributes to firm performance; (ii) obtain more rigorous methodological approaches to measure a wide range of CSR dimensions and address the issue of endogeneity in CSR-firm performance causal relationship; (iii) open the Pandora box to explore why and through which channels CSR can improve firm financial performance with the presence of situational factors; and (iv) build the literature with more evidence from different country contexts and from developing and emerging countries.

Agriculture – rural – farmer is a crucial issue in Vietnam development policy. There are huge challenges in enhancing the efficiency of agriculture production. This paper focused on the estimation and determinants of rice production of Vietnam rural farmers. Based on VHLSS database in 2016, the author checked and manipulated 3299 observations which were surveyed all 6 regions in Vietnam. This paper uses the Data Envelopment Analysis approach (DEA) to estimate the score of production efficiency. The results showed that the score of Vietnam rice production efficiency not good, mean at 8,95/100. Additionally, the author determined the effect of the factors on the efficiency score through the Tobit regression model. The model results reveal that labor and livelihood diversity effect on the efficiency of rice production of Vietnam rural farmers. Moreover, the difference in the geographical region and soci-economic characteristics also formalize the difference in production efficiency score among farmers in Vietnam.
Domestic innovation activities and economic development in Vietnam
Tập 4 Số 4 - Trang 1069-1080 - 2020
In 1986, it marked the renovation path, changing mechanisms and policies in all aspects, including Vietnam's economy. Since then, Vietnam's economy has grown rapidly with the contribution of the private sector, which was explained through Schumpeter's theory, and innovation was considered as the blood source for the nation's existence and development. The paper aims to explore the relationship between domestic innovation activities and economic development in Vietnam during 1988-2018. Data in the study were collected from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the World Bank (World Bank). This study used the Vector Autoregression Model (VAR) to analyze the relationship between domestic innovation activities and economic development. The research results show that Vietnam's domestic innovation activity is still limited, and has a twoway relationship between domestic innovation activities and economic development in Vietnam. Based on the research results, Vietnam needs to have an appropriate policy for economic development, especially focusing on renovating mechanisms and policies to create conditions for the private sector to strengthen its innovation to develop thereby contributing to Vietnam's economic development.
Foreign innovation activities and CO2 emissions in Vietnam
Tập 5 Số 2 - Trang 1378-1388 - 2021
Vietnam is an emerging economy, CO2 emissions are a topic of interest to scientists and the Government, and innovation plays a very important role in ensuring sustainable growth. The year 1987 marked the formalization of the inflow of foreign investment into the country, from which the foreign-invested economic sector played an important role in the economic development of Vietnam. However, along with the benefits from foreign investment, there are still some shortcomings and limitations that can cause damage to the environment through CO2 emissions. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between foreign innovation and CO2 emissions in Vietnam in the period 1988-2018. Data in the study are collected from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the World Bank (World Bank), and website: https://countryeconom y.com/. The study uses a self-regression vector model (VAR) to analyze the relationship between foreign innovation and CO2 emissions. Research results show that there is a two-way relationship between foreign innovation activities and CO2 emissions in Vietnam. Based on research results, Vietnam needs to have appropriate policies to ensure the goal of reducing CO2 emissions, through policies to encourage innovation activities focusing on technological innovation using raw materials. Clean access, with little impact on the environment, thereby ensuring the goal of both growing and reducing CO2 emissions.
Factors affecting the intention to use online shopping apps in Ho Chi Minh City
Tập 3 Số 4 - Trang 390-401 - 2020
This study aims to identify factors affecting the intention to use online shopping apps of Vietnamese consumers. The results indicate the suitability of the theoretical model for market data. Some hypotheses in the model are also accepted. Based on theory of technology acceptance suggested in previous studies, the authors identified five out of eight tested factors that influence the intention to use online shopping apps. In particular, the results from multiple regression analysis on a dataset of 315 customers show that flexibility, habit, trust, hedonic motivation and perceived risk have a direct impact on the intention to use online shopping apps. This study is expected to provide e-commerce companies an overview of the customers who use mobile apps for online shopping and thereby allowing them to develop and improve their apps as well as design strategic plans.
