Mesenchymal Stem Cells Inhibit and Stimulate Mixed Lymphocyte Cultures and Mitogenic Responses Independently of the Major Histocompatibility Complex Tập 57 Số 1 - Trang 11-20 - 2003

AbstractWe aimed to study the effects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) on
alloreactivity and effects of T‐cell activation on human peripheral blood
lymphocytes (PBLs) in vitro. MSCs were expanded from the bone marrow of healthy
subjects. MSCs isolated from second to third passage were positive for CD166,
CD105, CD44, CD29, SH‐3 and SH‐4, but negative for CD34 and CD45. MSCs cultured
in osteogenic,... hiện toàn bộ
The Involution of the Ageing Human Thymic Epithelium is Independent of Puberty Tập 22 Số 5 - Trang 563-575 - 1985

One hundred and thiriy‐six thymuses completely removed; il autopsy from persons
suffering a sudden death were examined by stereological and morphomelrical
meihods. Adding biopsy material from immunologically healthy cardiac patients we
obtained relative volumes from 204 persons ranging in age from 1 month to 107
years. The size of the human thymus remains unchanged during ageing under normal
physi... hiện toàn bộ
Mesenchymal Stem Cells Inhibit the Expression of CD25 (Interleukin‐2 Receptor) and CD38 on Phytohaemagglutinin‐Activated Lymphocytes Tập 60 Số 3 - Trang 307-315 - 2004

AbstractMesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are immunomodulatory and inhibit lymphocyte
proliferation. We studied surface expression of lymphocyte activation markers
and secreted cytokines, when lymphocytes were activated in the presence of MSC.
MSC suppressed the proliferation of phytohaemagglutinin (PHA)‐stimulated CD3+,
CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes. MSC significantly reduced the expression of
activation ... hiện toàn bộ
Endotoxin‐Stimulated Human Monocyte Secretion of Interleukin 1, Tumour Necrosis Factor Alpha, and Prostaglandin E2 Shows Stable Interindividual Differences Tập 27 Số 6 - Trang 705-716 - 1988

The secretions of interleukin 1 (IL‐1), tumour necrosis factor α (TNF), and
prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) of low‐dose E. coli lipopolysaccharide (LPSJ‐stimulated
human monocytes (Mø) were investigated in an endotoxin (ET)‐free milieu (<1.6 pg
LPS/ml). Human Mø cultures from nine healthy men were stimulated with 0,
12.5–500, and 250,000 pg LPS/ml as measured by a very sensitive Limulus test.
The IL‐1 act... hiện toàn bộ
T Lymphocytes in Collagen II‐Induced Arthritis in Mice Tập 22 Số 3 - Trang 295-306 - 1985
Rikard Holmdahl, Lars Klareskog, Kristofer Rubin, E Larsson, Hans Wigzell
Collagen type II‐spedfic long‐term cultured T helper cells, derived from the
DBA/1 mouse, have been established and characterized. Clones from these T‐cell
lines could he shown to recognize either species‐specific or species‐nonspecific
determinants on the collagen type II molecule, including determinants on
autologous mouse collagen. Induction of arthritis via transfer to both
irradiated and norm... hiện toàn bộ
The Antigens of Mycobacterium bovis, Strain BCG, Studied by Crossed Immunoelectrophoresis: a Reference System Tập 12 Số 3 - Trang 249-263 - 1980
O Closs, M Harboe, N. H. Axelsen, K. Bunch‐Christensen, M Magnusson
A reference system for the soluble antigen of Mycobacterium bovis, strain BCG is
described. The system is based on crossed immunoelectrophoresis with
intermediate gel. A Commercially available immunoglobulin preparation made from
rabbit anti‐BCG hyperimmune serum was used as reference antibodies, while a
concentrated BCG culture filtrate was used as reference antigen. The pattern
obtained was high... hiện toàn bộ
