A time-delay calibrated method for cornea hysteresis and intraocular pressure measurement
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 23 Số 2 - Trang 340-345 - 2016
Wang, Kuo-Jen, Tsai, Che-Liang, Wang, Wai, Hsu, Long, Hsu, Ken-Yuh
The presence of cornea hysteresis (CH) in characterizing the intraocular pressure (IOP) of a human eye deteriorates the accuracy of IOP. To suppress CH, the pressure gauge of a tonometer must be located as close as possible to the cornea. However, this arrangement is unpractical because appropriate working distance to the cornea is required. In this paper, a time-delay calibrated (TDC) method is p...... hiện toàn bộ
Layered blind deconvolution using subband filter banks
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 4 - Trang 164-166 - 1997
Takanori Nomura, Masaya Tamaru
A blind deconvolution method using the concept of subband filter banks has been proposed. This method makes possible the speedy convergence of solution, due to estimation of supports of the reconstructed images by a deconvolution in the lower layer. We apply the method to blind deconvolution by a simulated annealing algorithm and confirm its usefulness.
Optical rotation conveyor belt based on a polarization-maintaining hollow-core photonic crystal fiber
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 27 - Trang 561-567 - 2020
Heming Su, Nan Li, Chenge Wang, Qi Zhu, Wenqiang Li, Zhenhai Fu, Huizhu Hu
Hollow-core photonic crystal fibers (HCPCFs), a form of optical conveyer belts, have been used to guide particles for many years. However, only the translational motions of a guided particle can be manipulated. In contrast to traditional types, we demonstrate a new form of optical conveyor belts based on a polarization-maintaining hollow-core photonic crystal fiber (PMHCPCF). Because of the consta...... hiện toàn bộ

Photorefractive effect in ferroelectric liquid crystals
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 21 - Trang 99-109 - 2014
Takeo Sasaki, Yumiko Naka
In this paper, we review recent progress of research on the photorefractive effect of ferroelectric liquid crystals. The photorefractive effect is a phenomenon that forms a dynamic hologram in a material. The interference of two laser beams in a photorefractive material establishes a refractive index grating. This phenomenon is applicable to a wide range of devices related to diffraction optics in...... hiện toàn bộ
Optical sensing of parameters crucial for Japanese woodblock print making
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 17 - Trang 252-256 - 2010
Tommi Kaplas, Kari Laitinen, Tuula Moilanen, Yrjö Tolonen, Kristoffer Albrecht, Raimo Silvennoinen
Traditional Japanese woodblock printing is a centuries old art form. This time-honoured form of art is at risk of extinction as a consequence of the increasing lack of availability of wild cherry trees, which are a traditionally used woodblock material. Solutions for this material problem have been investigated for several years, but none of the tested materials has been sufficient when compared w...... hiện toàn bộ
Advanced optimization method for spherical aberration and focus offset for optical disc drive
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 21 - Trang 576-577 - 2014
Tomo Kishigami, Yusuke Kanatake, Nobuo Takeshita
We developed an optimization method for spherical aberration and focus offset for an optical disc drive using an elliptical approximation. This method measures the small number of points that are located at specific positions. Furthermore, it approximates a characteristic distribution to an ellipse and calculates the center of the ellipse as the optimal point. The effectiveness of this method is e...... hiện toàn bộ
The formation of large scale reconstructed images through the use of holograms
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 15 - Trang 44-50 - 2008

We propose and demonstrate a method which constructs large size multicolor images using a holographic technique in limited spaces, i.e., tunnels. A traffic sign image of the same size and color as an actual traffic sign board is displayed using many comparative small holograms. Each hologram is composed of a single computer generated hologram (CGH). Though it was necessary to make many CGHs, we ha...... hiện toàn bộ
Sensing of refractive index by using guided mode resonance 1D TiO2 grating at visible wavelength under normal incidence
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 30 - Trang 427-435 - 2023

The effects of guided mode resonance (GMR) are largely used in optical communications because of its accurate line width and good capability. Specially study of titanium dioxide (TiO2) gratings on glass substrate exhibit very low losses and can have excellent diffraction abilities along annihilation ratios. In this study a significant refractive index sensing by using the grating mode resonance in...... hiện toàn bộ
Optical axis jitter rejection for double overlapped adaptive optics systems
Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 23 - Trang 273-283 - 2016
Qi Luo, Xi Luo, Xinyang Li
Optical axis jitters, or vibrations, which arise from wind shaking and structural oscillations of optical platforms, etc., cause a deleterious impact on the performance of adaptive optics systems. When conventional integrators are utilized to reject such high frequency and narrow-band disturbance, the benefits are quite small despite their acceptable capabilities to reject atmospheric turbulence. ...... hiện toàn bộ
