New ΔR Values for the Southwest Pacific OceanRadiocarbon - Tập 46 Số 2 - Trang 1005-1014 - 2004
Fiona Petchey, Matthew Phelan, J. Peter White
ΔR results of known-age shells from the Solomon and Coral Seas and the northwest
coast of New Ireland are presented. The results are too few to be conclusive but
indicate that ΔR in this region is variable. An average ΔR value of 370 ± 25 yr
is recorded for a range of shell species from Kavieng Harbor, New Ireland, and
is primarily attributed to weak equatorial upwelling of depleted 14C due to
sea... hiện toàn bộ
Radiocarbon Chronology of the Holocene Dead Sea: Attempting a Regional CorrelationRadiocarbon - Tập 43 Số 3 - Trang 1179-1189 - 2001
Amos Frumkin, Galit Kadan, Yehouda Enzel, Y. Eyal
Holocene sedimentary and geomorphic sequences from the Dead Sea region, Israel,
are compared by correlation of more than 50 radiocarbon dates. The 14C dates
provided the chronological basis that enabled us to detect basin-scale events
that are hard to ascertain in single-site records. This paper is the first
attempt to compare different Holocene records from several sites along the Dead
Sea, based... hiện toàn bộ
Marine04 Marine Radiocarbon Age Calibration, 0–26 Cal Kyr BpRadiocarbon - Tập 46 Số 3 - Trang 1059-1086 - 2004

New radiocarbon calibration curves, IntCal04 and Marine04, have been constructed
and internationally ratified to replace the terrestrial and marine components of
IntCal98. The new calibration data sets extend an additional 2000 yr, from 0–26
cal kyr BP (Before Present, 0 cal BP = AD 1950), and provide much higher
resolution, greater precision, and more detailed structure than IntCal98. For
the Mar... hiện toàn bộ
Radiocarbon Dating Evidence for Mammoths on Wrangel Island, Arctic Ocean, Until 2000 BCRadiocarbon - Tập 37 Số 1 - Trang 1-6 - 1995
Sergey Vartanyan, Х. А. Арсланов, T. V. Tertychnaya, С. В. Чернов
Radiocarbon dating results of mammoth tusks, teeth and bones collected on
Wrangel Island between 1989 and 1991 reveal a unique mammoth refugium during the
Holocene. We used an improved chemical procedure to obtain and purify collagen
from bone. Benzene synthesized from the samples was measured using a liquid
scintillation counter. The validity of our data has been confirmed by the
results of our m... hiện toàn bộ
Recent and Planned Developments of the Program OxCalRadiocarbon - Tập 55 Số 2 - Trang 720-730 - 2013
Christopher Bronk Ramsey, Sharen Lee
OxCal is a widely used software package for the calibration of radiocarbon dates
and the statistical analysis of 14C and other chronological information. The
program aims to make statistical methods easily available to researchers and
students working in a range of different disciplines. This paper will look at
the recent and planned developments of the package. The recent additions to the
statist... hiện toàn bộ
Radiocarbon Levels in the Iceland Sea from 25–53 kyr and their Link to the Earth's Magnetic Field IntensityRadiocarbon - Tập 42 Số 3 - Trang 437-452 - 2000
Antje H L Voelker, Pieter Meiert Grootes, Marie‐Josée Nadeau, Michael Sarnthein
By correlating the climate records and radiocarbon ages of the planktonic
foraminifera N. pachyderma(s) of deep-sea core PS2644 from the Iceland Sea with
the annual-layer chronology of the GISP2 ice core, we obtained 80 marine 14C
calibration points for the interval 11.4-53.3 ka cal BP. Between 27 and 54 ka
cal BP the continuous record of 14C/cal age differences reveals three intervals
of highly i... hiện toàn bộ
An Overview of 14C Analysis in the Study of GroundwaterRadiocarbon - Tập 42 Số 1 - Trang 99-114 - 2000
Mebus A. Geyh
This paper provides a summary overview of the current state-of-art in the
radiocarbon dating of groundwater. While the use of natural 14C measurements in
applied hydrogeology still presents a difficult challenge, meaningful dates can
be achieved if they are determined and interpreted in conjunction with the
analyses of other isotopic species that occur in the natural environment.
Although 14C dati... hiện toàn bộ
University of Tokyo Radiocarbon Measurements IVRadiocarbon - Tập 13 Số 1 - Trang 97-102 - 1971
Hiromi Kobayashi, Yasuko Matsui, Hisashi Suzuki
The C14 measurements reported here were made in this laboratory between January
1969 and July 1970. Details of our apparatus, sample preparation, and measuring
procedure were described in R., 1968, v. 10, p. 144–148. A change has been made
since January 1969: strontium carbonate is reduced to strontium carbide with a
mixture of 60g of SrCO3 to 40g of Mg-powder (<200 mesh) instead of 60g of SrCO3

Problems in Radiocarbon Dating of SoilsRadiocarbon - Tập 35 Số 3 - Trang 351-362 - 1993
О.А. Чичагова, Alexander Cherkinsky
We discuss our progress in three principal applications of 14C dating of recent
and fossil soils: 1) new methods; 2) problems of interpreting 14C soil data
(e.g.,14C age of soils, age of soils, duration of humus formation, rate of
carbon cycling); and 3) 14C analysis of soil organic matter (OM) in pedology and
paleogeography (e.g., soil genesis and evolution, humus formation and OM
metamorphosis, ... hiện toàn bộ
