Multitrophic interactions and management of the diamondback moth: a review Tập 86 Số 3 - Trang 205-216 - 1996
Robert H. J. Verkerk, Denis J. Wright
AbstractThe diamondback moth,Plutella xylostellaLinnaeus (Yponomeutidae),
remains one of the most serious pests of crucifers in many parts of the world,
particularly in South East Asia. This paper reviews the wide array of strategies
which have been used in attempts to controlP. xylostellaover the last 40 years
and consolidates the fragmented and sometimes hard-to-access literature on two

Ivermectin excreted in cattle dung after subcutaneous injection or pour-on treatment: concentrations and impact on dung fauna Tập 82 Số 2 - Trang 257-264 - 1992
Christian Sommer, Bente Steffansen, Bjarne Nielsen, J. Grønvold, Kathleen M. Jensen, Jørgen B. Jespersen, J. Springborg, P. Nansen
AbstractHeifers were treated with the recommended doses of ivermectin: 0.2 mg/
kg bw by subcutaneous injection or 0.5 mg/kg bw by pour-on. An analytic
procedure is described and used for the detection of ivermectin residues
excreted in dung. A large amount of the higher pour-on dose was excreted during
the first five days after dosing due to a more rapid distribution to intestinal
contents. Later ... hiện toàn bộ
Nanoemulsion of eucalyptus oil and its larvicidal activity against Culex quinquefasciatus Tập 104 Số 3 - Trang 393-402 - 2014

AbstractFilariasis is a mosquito-borne disease that causes lymphedema and the
main vector is Culex quinquefasciatus. A simple measure was taken to eradicate
the vector using nanoemulsion. Eucalyptus oil nanoemulsion was formulated in
various ratios comprising of eucalyptus oil, tween 80 and water by
ultrasonication. The stability of nanoemulsion was observed over a period of
time and 1:2 ratios of... hiện toàn bộ
Avermectins in insect control and biology: a review Tập 77 Số 3 - Trang 357-389 - 1987
L. Strong, Denis Leducq
AbstractIn a variety of laboratory and field experiments, avermectins have been
tested against some 84 species of insects in ten orders, most of which are pests
of livestock or horticultural crops or are of general nuisance value. This work
is reviewed, comparing doses used, methods of application, and responses of the
insects. Avermectins (abamectin and ivermectin) are toxic to almost all insects... hiện toàn bộ
The Anopheles maculipennis complex (Diptera: Culicidae) in Iran: molecular characterization and recognition of a new species Tập 93 Số 6 - Trang 527-535 - 2003
Mohammad Mehdi Sedaghat, Yvonne‐Marie Linton, MA Oshaghi, Hassan Vatandoost, Ralph E. Harbach
AbstractMosquitoes of the Anopheles maculipennis complex were collected in nine
provinces of Iran (Esfahan, Fars, Gilan, Golestan, Kohkiluyeh va Boyerahmad,
Mazandaran, Tehran, Azarbaijan-e Gharbi and Zanjan) between June 1983 and
September 2002. The nuclear rDNA ITS2 sequences of 86 specimens were compared
with those of seven species of the complex available in GenBank. Three
genetically distinct... hiện toàn bộ
Avermectins: a review of their impact on insects of cattle dung Tập 82 Số 2 - Trang 265-274 - 1992
L. Strong
AbstractAvermectins administered to cattle for control of parasitic infections
by injection or slow-release bolus are excreted in the faeces and have a variety
of harmful effects upon Diptera and Coleoptera that develop in cow-pats: these
effects are reviewed. Diptera Cyclorrhapha are severely affected, the extent of
the response depending on the drug concentration in the dung. At high levels,
lar... hiện toàn bộ
Control of tsetse fly (Diptera: Glossinidae) populations using traps at Nguruman, south-west Kenya Tập 80 Số 3 - Trang 265-276 - 1990
R. D. Dransfield, R. Brightwell, C. Kyorku, Brian Williams
AbstractA field trial was carried out in a Maasai group ranch to assess the use
of odour-baited traps for suppression of a population of the tsetse fly Glossina
pallidipes Austen. In January, 1987, local people made 100 NG2B traps in their
homesteads. These were then deployed within the suppression zone of about 100
km2, primarily in the areas of woodland where flies aggregate in the dry season.

Competitive displacement between two invasive whiteflies: insecticide application and host plant effects Tập 103 Số 3 - Trang 344-353 - 2013
Di-Bing Sun, Yin‐Quan Liu, Li Qin, Jing Xu, Fangfang Li, Shu‐Sheng Liu
AbstractThe cryptic species Middle East-Asia Minor 1 (MEAM1), formerly referred
to as ‘B biotype’, of the whitefly Bemisia tabaci complex entered China in the
mid 1990s, and the Mediterranean (MED) cryptic species, formerly referred to as
‘Q biotype’, of the same whitefly complex entered China around 2003. Field
surveys in China after 2003 indicate that in many regions MED has been replacing
