Thirteen of 18 depressed Vietnam War combat veterans who had frequent, explosive outbursts of rage enjoyed reduced explosiveness when treated with fluoxetine, They displayed and reported a greater ability to think rather than act. Duration of anger also diminished; and mood improved.
