A salinity sensor system for estuary studiesSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - - 2008
In this paper, we present the design, development and testing of a salinity
sensor system for estuary studies. The sensor was designed keeping size, cost
and functionality in mind. The system will be using the LabVIEW program
developed by our lab to download and display the data. The microprocessor design
of our salinity sensor and a description of our LabVIEW mapping tool are
presented below. Our... hiện toàn bộ

New surface acoustic wave gas sensor of the mass-sensitive type sensitive to the thermal properties of gasesSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 1 - Trang 372-375 vol.1
The basic principles of a new surface acoustic wave (SAW) gas sensor are
described. Being essentially a sensor of the mass-sensitive type, the proposed
device possesses certain features of the thermometric SAW sensors and is not
only sensitive to the vapors of volatile substances, but capable of detecting
gases by their thermal properties as well. This principles consists of making a
certain delay... hiện toàn bộ

Temperature dependences of fibre-optical sensors of mechanical valuesProceedings. 3rd Annual Siberian Russian Workshop on Electron Devices and Materials - Tập 1 - Trang 3 pp. - 2002
In the work the temperature dependences of the fibre-optical sensor of
mechanical values are explored. The examinations of influence of temperature
changes on the transmitting characteristic of FOS were spend. As a sensing
device the silicon membrane with width h1=40 micron with strong centre by width
h3=200 micron was used. The measuring were spend at temperatures T1=20/spl
deg/C, T2=60/spl deg/C... hiện toàn bộ

High-current injection in Spreading-Resistance Temperature sensor on SOIProceedings 2002 IEEE Hong Kong Electron Devices Meeting (Cat. No.02TH8616) - - Trang 69-72
A high-current injection phenomenon was found in Spreading-Resistance
Temperature (SRT) sensor on SOI. Simulation and experiment of the sensor with
different silicon-film thicknesses and doping concentrations were conducted to
demonstrate this phenomenon, which can be explained by the conductivity
modulation model normally used in LIGBT. This study is very helpful for
designing the operating curre... hiện toàn bộ

Novel soil-moisture-sensors applying thermal characteristics of soil and waterSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 1 - Trang 484-489 vol.1
Novel soil-moisture-sensors applying thermal characteristics of soil and water
are presented for agriculture use and nature conservation use. These sensors
have high sensitivity in low moisture concentrations, small ion effects and are
cheap in price. Two types of soil-moisture-sensor applying thermal
characteristics of soil and water are presented in this paper. In the first
sensor, a phenomenon ... hiện toàn bộ

General tracking performance description for systems of sensorsProceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Information Fusion. FUSION 2002. (IEEE Cat.No.02EX5997) - Tập 1 - Trang 128-134 vol.1
Traditionally, radar or sensor performance is reviewed in terms of detection
ranges and measurement accuracy. Today, when the radar often is a part of a
locally integrated sensor system, which shall cooperate with other sensor
systems, other performance parameters are required for evaluation and comparison
of various solutions. The present paper gives an analysis method for
descriptions of the tra... hiện toàn bộ

On-line estimation of the stator resistance and leakage inductance of a four-phase induction machine drive2002 IEEE 33rd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37289) - Tập 4 - Trang 1955-1959 vol.4
This paper proposes a technique to determine the on-line stator resistance of a
four-phase induction machine in a four-phase drive system. Besides the stator
resistance, the stator leakage inductance can also be estimated. These
parameters are obtained by solving a least squares minimization problem. The
technique is conceived to be used on-line with the drive strategy without
disturbing the machi... hiện toàn bộ

Analogic fiber optic position sensor with nanometric resolutionSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 2 - Trang 926-930 vol.2
This paper describes a miniature analogic position sensor. This sensor is
dedicated to high resolution displacement measurement (10 nm) between two
positions over a long range (a few millimeters). The working principle of the
sensor is presented as well as experimental results.

Miniature fiber optic pressure sensor for medical applicationsSENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 1 - Trang 711-714 vol.1
Presents a theoretical description, fabrication and experimental investigation
of miniature optical fiber pressure sensor for invasive measurement of blood
pressure. Sensor measures only 125 /spl mu/m in diameter. The essential element
is thin polymer diaphragm that is positioned inside a hollow end of the optical
fiber. The cavity at the fiber end is made by wet etching in diluted HF acid.

The investigation of an integrated gas sensor arraySENSORS, 2002 IEEE - Tập 1 - Trang 343 vol.1
A micro integrated gas sensor array has been designed and fabricated with
surface micro-machining technology. The sensor array consists of four elements
integrated on a chip. Two different kinds of SnO/sub 2/ film were sputtered on
the four sensors. Au and Pt were deposited on the surface of SnO/sub 2/ film as
catalysts. The four sensors can be independently controlled by separate heater
and tempe... hiện toàn bộ
