Post-irradiation bladder dysfunction: development of a rat modelUrological Research - Tập 21 - Trang 383-388 - 1993
J. A. Vale, W. G. Bowsher, K. Liu, A. Tomlinson, H. N. Whitfield, K. R. Trott
The aim of this research was to establish a small animal model for the functional and morphological study of post-irradiation bladder dysfunction. Young adult female Wistar rats were X-irradiated with single doses of 10, 15, 20 or 25 Gy. Filling cystometry was performed to assess changes in reservoir function: the volume infused to produce a rise in intravesical pressure of 5 cmH2O was calculated ...... hiện toàn bộ
Health related quality of life in ureteral stone patients: post-ureterolithiasisUrological Research - Tập 39 - Trang 385-388 - 2011
Danny M. Rabah, Mohamed AlOmar, Saleh Binsaleh, Mostafa A. Arafa
Ureteral stones disease is among the most painful and prevalent among urologic disorders that can substantially impact health-related quality of life (HRQoL), particularly in patients with a history of recurrent stones. The aim of the study is to assess the QoL in patients with ureteral calculi after surgical intervention and identifying the most significant factors that could impact their QoL. Th...... hiện toàn bộ
Shockwave lithotripsy and endourological stone treatment in childrenUrological Research - Tập 34 - Trang 112-117 - 2006
Sven Lahme
Urolithiasis in children is a rare disease in developed countries. Due to the particular anatomical conditions of the infant body, indications and results of the well-known treatment modalities, such as shockwave lithotripsy (SWL), ureteroscopy and PCNL, have to be determined. Experience in active stone treatment in children is very rare and only a limited number of papers are available. SWL can b...... hiện toàn bộ
Compensatory renal hypertrophy I. Following unilateral nephrectomyUrological Research - Tập 3 - Trang 169-175 - 1975
S. Olesen, P. O. Madsen
The compensatory renal hypertrophy and hyperfunction following unilateral nephrectomy have been studied in dogs over a two-year period. It was found that a sharp increase in function and volume of kidney tissue takes place during the first two weeks. CCr and volume of kidney tissue continue to increase reaching average values after two years of 88% and 92% respectively of those for two kidneys. CP...... hiện toàn bộ
Cystone® for 1 year did not change urine chemistry or decrease stone burden in cystine stone formersUrological Research - Tập 39 - Trang 197-203 - 2010

Cystine kidney stones frequently recur because inadequate prevention exists. We recruited documented recurrent cystine kidney stone formers (6 men, 4 women, 44 ± 17 years) into a 2-phased study to assess safety and effectiveness of Cystone®, a herbal treatment used to prevent and facilitate passage of cystine kidney stones. The first phase was a randomized double-blinded 12 weeks crossover study a...... hiện toàn bộ
Changes in the bladder wall muscle associated with benign prostatic enlargementUrological Research - Tập 5 - Trang 149-152 - 1977
G. Jakse, F. Hoffstädter
In a study of 28 patients with prostatic obstruction, an attempt was made to correlate bladder wall hypertrophy and hyperplasia with objective measurements of prostatic enlargement. Correlation could only be established between the cell and nuclear volume ratio of the bladder muscle and the average urine flow rate.
Persistent hypercalcemia after neck exploration —An analysis of 34 casesUrological Research - Tập 14 - Trang 323-325 - 1986
A. Kristoffersson, L. Boquist, J. Järhult
A retrospective analysis of 34 patients undergoing 45 re-explorations for persistent hypercalcemia is presented. Thirteen out of the 20 enlarged parathyroid glands were found at reoperation to be normally located, indicating that the initial exploration had been incomplete. A follow-up study of the reoperated patients showed that 25 (74%) were normocalcaemic. Three patients had permanent unilatera...... hiện toàn bộ
