Modulation of Damping in the Rotor Vibratory Gyroscopes

A new approach to solving the problem of expanding the functionality of the rotor vibratory gyroscope is presented. Its motion equations are analyzed under modulated damping. Numerical solutions and analytical dependences are obtained, on the basis of which recommendations on technical improvement of the device are proposed.
Study of Heat Transfer from the Shell of Gas Turbine Plant and Methods of Its Thermal Protection

The paper presents the results of determining the temperature of gas turbine plant shell. The total heat transfer from the engine is calculated. The thermal protection scheme by blowing air through the porous screen is proposed to reduce the temperature of the gas turbine plant shell as well as to reduce the total heat transfer from the engine to the surrounding compartment space.

The influence of preliminary buckling of a shell reinforced by a regular cross system of ribs and filled with a medium on the critical load parameters of overall instability is considered. The investigation is based on the problem statement using the mixed energy method and the nonlinear strain compatibility equation.

The results of studying an incompressible gas flow field in a periodic element of the porous structure made up of the same radius spheres are presented; the studies were based on the solution of the Navier-Stokes equations using FLUENT software. The possibilities to accelerate the solution process with the use of parallel calculations are investigated and the calculation results under changes of pressure differential in the periodic element are given.

The experience gained in structural modifying the low-pressure drop gas turbine engine fuel atomizer with two air nozzles is presented. The volume of fluid (VOF) approach is used for analyzing the two-phase flows to describe the numerical analysis of atomization quality. The base design and the design based on numerical analysis are compared by using a full-scale experiment.

A method for determining the local heat flux per unit area, namely, gradient heat flux measurement, is proposed based on transverse the Seebeck effect. The structure of skew layer composites is described, the dependencies are given, which allow calculating volt-watt sensitivity of the sensors. Technology of sensor production based on metals, alloys and semiconductors is considered.

The results of evaluating the state and development of aerial targets designed for testing aircraft weapon, systems of air defense and combat crew training are presented. The basic types of aerial targets are examined using as an example existing ones and problems are posed to consider the necessity of creating new types of aerial targets for extending a range of FV types being simulated. The basic characteristics of aerial targets are separated and their classification is proposed.
Buckling and post-buckling behavior of shallow supported cylindrical panels

The problem of the post-buckling behavior of the supported cylindrical panel under uniform axial compression is solved. The cylindrical supported panel is considered as a beam on the Winkler elastic foundation, the stiffness coefficient of which is calculated at the known value of buckling load. The criteria for post-buckling estimation are introduced, namely, vanishing of the determinant of the resolving system of equations and going to infinity of the deflection and strain energy in the implementation of post buckling. A good agreement of the post-buckling load obtained in this work with the experimental results is shown.

A statistical design approach of an ad-hoc fixed-structure controller in the stabilization loop of a single axis gyro-stabilized platform, that allows adjusting for main disturbances acting on the stabilization loop, was presented. A script in Python language computerizing the optimal design procedure was developed and applied to the mathematical model of the single axis gyro-stabilized platform.
