Fourier-Galerkin Method for Localized Solutions of Equations with Cubic Nonlinearity
Journal of Computational Analysis and Applications - Tập 4 - Trang 63-77 - 2002
M. A. Christou, C. I. Christov
Using a complete orthonormal system of functions in L 2(−∞ ,∞) a Fourier-Galerkin spectral technique is developed for computing of the localized solutions of equations with cubic nonlinearity. A formula expressing the triple product into series in the system is derived. Iterative algorithm implementing the spectral method is developed and tested on the soliton problem for the cubic Boussinesq equa...... hiện toàn bộ
Numerical Approximation of First Eigenvalues for a Heat Conduction Problem
Journal of Computational Analysis and Applications - Tập 4 - Trang 37-46 - 2002
Pierpaolo Natalini
An eigenvalue problem for a differential operator connected with the heat conduction of a non-steady flow is considered. By using an iterative method for computing the eigenvalues of second kind Fredholm operators (see [1]-[11]) we derive approximation of first eigenvalues closer with respect to results appearing in preceding literature.

Bivariate Polynomial Natural Spline Interpolation Algorithms with Local Basis for Scattered Data
Journal of Computational Analysis and Applications - Tập 5 - Trang 77-101 - 2003
Lutai Guan
Because of its importance in both theory and applications, multivariate splines have attracted special attention in many fields. Based on the theory of spline functions in Hilbert spaces, bivariate polynomial natural splines for interpolating, smoothing or generalized interpolating of scattered data over an arbitrary domain are constructed with one-sided functions. However, this method is not well...... hiện toàn bộ
Sturm–Liouville Problems with Coupled Boundary Conditions and Lagrange Interpolation Series
Journal of Computational Analysis and Applications - Tập 1 - Trang 319-347 - 1999
W. N. Everitt, G. Nasri-Roudsari
This paper is concerned with the application of the Kramer sampling theorem to Sturm–Liouville problems with coupled boundary conditions. The analysis is restricted to the case when the spectrum of the boundary value problem is simple. In all such cases, it is shown that Kramer analytic kernels can be defined and that each kernel has an associated analytic interpolation function to give the Lagran...... hiện toàn bộ

Qi S. Zhang
We study the inhomogeneous semilinear wave equations $$\Delta u{\text{ + }}\left| u \right|^p - u_{tt} + w = 0$$ on $${\text{M}}^n \times \left( {0,\infty } \right)$$ with initial values ...... hiện toàn bộ
Parallel Asynchronous Global Search and the Nested Optimization Scheme
Journal of Computational Analysis and Applications - Tập 3 - Trang 123-145 - 2001
Yaroslav D. Sergeyev, Vladimir A. Grishagin
In this paper, a parallel asynchronous information algorithm for solving multidimensional Lipschitz global optimization problems, where times for evaluating the objective function can be different from point to point, is proposed. This method uses the nested optimization scheme and a new parallel asynchronous global optimization method for solving core univariate subproblems generated by the neste...... hiện toàn bộ
