We report high-energy milling of macrocrystalline nonstoichiometric cubic vanadium monoxide (VO
y
) powder in a planetary ball mill lined with stabilized zirconia. The results indicate that milling of macrocrystalline VO
y
powder at 500 rpm for more than 2 h considerably broadens diffraction line profiles, with no changes in the ...... hiện toàn bộ
Effect of Hydrostatic Pressure on the Transport Properties of Cadmium Diarsenide CrystalsInorganic Materials - Tập 37 - Trang 327-330 - 2001

The electrical resistivity and Hall coefficient of n-type CdAs2crystals cut along [001] and [100] were measured at hydrostatic pressures in the range 0–9 GPa. The ρ(P) and R
H(P) curves for the [001] direction show three peaks at 1.8, 3, and 5.5 GPa. In the [100] direction, the curves show two peaks at 3 and 5.5 GPa. The peaks at 1.8 and 3 GPa are likely related to impurity levels. The peak at 5.5...... hiện toàn bộ

SmS
x
materials with x = 0.8–1.5 are synthesized, and their electrical properties are studied in order to ascertain whether they can be used in thermoelectric converters. The results indicate that the optimal composition is SmS0.96, with a thermoelectric figure of merit Z ∼ 0.9 × 10–3 K–1 at 1000 K. The conductivity and thermopower data for SmS

Nanostructured Pt/C and Pt
x
Ni/C materials containing from 4 to 30 wt % Pt were prepared using the method of chemical reduction of platinum and nickel compounds in the liquid phase by sodium borohydride solution. The change in the nature of the organic component (ethylene glycol, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl formamide, tetrahydrofuran, acetone, ethyl alcohol, and...... hiện toàn bộ
Synthesis and Study of Ion Adsorption and Fluorescent Properties of Silica-Grafted Bis(crownazo)methineInorganic Materials - Tập 40 - Trang 1006-1013 - 2004

A ketocyanine ligand containing two N-aza-15-crown-5 residues has been synthesized and covalently anchored to a silica substrate through an azomethine link. The ligand formation and molecular structure have been determined by combining spectral data and molecular simulations. Preferential adsorption of rare-earth metals from aqueous solutions to the modified surface has been noticed. In the case o...... hiện toàn bộ
Inelastic Properties of Amorphous and Nanocrystalline Fe–P–Mn–V AlloysInorganic Materials - Tập 40 - Trang 815-821 - 2004

The processes occurring in amorphous Fe–P–Mn–V alloys at elevated temperatures, up to the crystallization temperature, are investigated by internal friction measurements and x-ray diffraction analysis. The results are used to evaluate the activation energy of defect migration and the particle size of the crystalline phases precipitating in the alloys during annealing. It is shown that increasing t...... hiện toàn bộ

The effect of neutron irradiation on the properties of diamond crystals prepared in the Mn–Ni–C system (5.5 GPa, 1620–1670 K, 120–300 s) was studied. The results indicate that irradiation increases the strength of the crystals and reduces the concentration of paramagnetic centers. The observed changes are interpreted in terms of interaction between intrinsic defects and impurities.
