Heisenberg-type uncertainty inequalities for the Dunkl wavelet transform
Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics - Tập 54 - Trang 224-240 - 2022
Saifallah Ghobber
The aim of this paper is to prove Heisenberg-type uncertainty inequalities for the Dunkl wavelet transform, involving the the time and scale dispersions, showing that, the Dunkl wavelet transform of a nonzero function cannot be concentrated both in time and in scale in the time-scale domain. These inequalities are the consequences of other stronger uncertainty inequalities, which are the local and...... hiện toàn bộ
Annulus containing all the eigenvalues of a matrix polynomial
Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics - Tập 53 - Trang 405-412 - 2022
Sunil Hans, Samir Raouafi
In this paper, we prove a more general result concerning the location of the eigenvalues of a matrix polynomial in an annulus from which we deduce an interesting result due to Higham and Tisseur [11]. Several other known results have been extended to matrix polynomials, which in particular include extension and generalization of a classical result of Cauchy [4]. We also present two examples of mat...... hiện toàn bộ
On the generalized Ramanujan-Nagell equation $$\pmb {x^2+(3m^2+1)=(4m^2+1)^n}$$
Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics - Tập 53 - Trang 222-227 - 2022
Ruiqin Fu, Hai Yang
Let m be a positive integer. Using certain properties of Pell equations with elementary number theoretic methods, we prove that the equation $$x^2+(3m^2+1)=(4m^2+1)^n$$ has only two positive integer solutions $$(x,\ n)=(m,\ 1)$$...... hiện toàn bộ

Disjointness in supercyclicity on the algebra of Hilbert-Schmidt operators
Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics - Tập 46 - Trang 219-228 - 2015
Liang Zhang, Ze-Hua Zhou
In this paper we show that the property of disjoint supercyclic operators T 1, ⋯, T N satisfying d-supercyclicity criterion on the same Hilbert space is equivalent to disjointness in supercyclicity of the corresponding left multiplication operators induced by T1, ⋯, T N in the st...... hiện toàn bộ
A study of the local convergence of a fifth order iterative method
Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics - Tập 51 - Trang 439-455 - 2020
Sukjith Singh, Eulalia Martínez, P. Maroju, Ramandeep Behl
We present a local convergence study of a fifth order iterative method to approximate a locally unique root of nonlinear equations. The analysis is discussed under the assumption that first order Fréchet derivative satisfies the Lipschitz continuity condition. Moreover, we consider the derivative free method that obtained through approximating the derivative with divided difference along with the ...... hiện toàn bộ
Contributions to algebraic number theory from India : From independence to late 90’s
Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics - Tập 50 - Trang 779-793 - 2019
Dipendra Prasad
There was a conference organised at the Institite of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai in 1997 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of India’s Independence to review contributions by Indians to various branches of mathematics since Independence. This is a written account of the lecture I gave then on some of the contributions by Indian mathematicians to Algebraic number theory from India’s indepen...... hiện toàn bộ
The Peterson recurrence formula for the chromatic discriminant of a graph
Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics - Tập 49 - Trang 581-587 - 2018
G. Arunkumar
The absolute value of the coefficient of q in the chromatic polynomial of a graph G is known as the chromatic discriminant of G and is denoted α(G). There is a well known recurrence formula for α(G) that comes from the deletion-contraction rule for the chromatic polynomial. In this paper we prove another recurrence formula for α(G) that comes from the theory of Kac- Moody Lie algebras. We start wi...... hiện toàn bộ
A Simple Observation on Decomposition of Multiple Zeta Values
Indian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics - Tập 51 - Trang 1269-1284 - 2021
Nita Tamang
A decomposition of Multiple Zeta Values has been derived in terms of Riemann Zeta Values, thereby obtaining a formula of Multiple Zeta Values given by T. Arakawa and M. Kaneko. Further, using the decomposition formula, some of the identities arising from Multiple Zeta Values have been reestablished in a larger domain.
