The pion decay constant as a scale for hadron dynamicsIl Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970) - Tập 17 - Trang 1-6 - 2008
H. Pagels
We speculate on the implications of the ground-state meson decay constantf π≅93
MeV setting the scale for hadron dynamics. On this basis we conjecture that the
asymptotic cross-sections obey σπN /σ K N =f K /f π in agreement with
experiment. We also find σππ=π/12f π 2 ≃14 so that the pion decay constant
scales the asymptotic cross-section.... hiện toàn bộ
Saturation of the Froissart boundIl Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970) - Tập 52 - Trang 99-114 - 2008
J. Kupsch, T. P. Pool
Amplitudes for the elastic scattering of two particles are constructed which
saturate the Froissart bound and satisfy i) Mandelstam analyticity and
polynomial boundedness, ii) crossing symmetry with respect to all channels and
iii) inelastic-unitarity constraints.
Plans for driver and target studies for heavy-ion inertial fusion by intense heavy-ion linac and cooler synchrotronIl Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970) - Tập 106 - Trang 1559-1565 - 2008
T. Hattori, M. Okamura, Y. Oguri, T. Aida, K. Takeuchi, K. Sasa, Y. Takahashi, Y. Ishii
Basic experiments for heavy-ion inertial fusion by using an intense heavy-ion
linac and a heavy-ion cooler synchrotron are proposed. The planned accelerator
complex consists of nine heavy-ion linacs, a heavy-ion cooler synchrotron, two
storage rings, 24 beam buncher rings and a chamber for target experiments. In a
first phase an old accelerator system will be improved to make it able to
accelerate... hiện toàn bộ
Remark on conservation laws in free-field theoriesIl Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970) - Tập 32 - Trang 51-54 - 2008
U. Wolff, H. P. Dürr
For the case of the free Dirac theory it is shown that additional conserved
currents exist. They are connected with nonlocal symmetry transformations. They
are characteristic of all free theories and hence incompatible with any
interaction. Nevertheless, attention has to be paid to this feature, for example
if one tries to derive currents by essentially using free-field commutation
relations.
Do Dirac monopoles admit a Lagrangian?Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970) - Tập 71 - Trang 134-146 - 2008
J. Godfrey
The rumor persists that Dirac’s monopole does not admit a Lagrangian. We prove
this conjecture for any C4 Lagrangian under the most commonly discussed choice
for the equations of motion of the monopole.
