Corrosion inhibition and adsorption behaviour of black pepper extract on pure aluminum in hydrochloric acid medium
Tập 45 Số 2 - Trang 106-118 - 2016
Divya G. Ladha, Nisha K. Shah, Suresh Thakur, Mohsin Y. Lone, Prakash C. Jha
Purpose– The purpose of this paper is to investigate the inhibitive properties of black pepper extract (BPE) for aluminium in 1M hydrochloric acid (HCl) medium.Design/methodology/approach– Gravimetric, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, galvanostatic polarization, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray examinations (SEM-EDX) techniques were used to study the corrosion inhib... hiện toàn bộ
Synthesis of nanosized mixed metal oxides heat and corrosion resistant pigments: CaMnO3, Ca2Cr2O5and CaSb2O6
Tập 44 Số 6 - Trang 379-385 - 2015
Osama A. G. Wahba, Mohd Ali Hassan, H. Abd El‐Wahab, A. Mohy-Eldin, A.M. Naser, Osama A. Fouad
Purpose– The purpose of this paper is to investigate the synthesis of calcium-based group of mixed metal oxide (MMO) pigments. The evaluation of these pigments as heat and corrosion resistant was also explored.Design/methodology/approach– Two simple synthesis techniques, namely, co-precipitation and solid-state calcination method, were used to synthesise nanosized MMO pigments. And then the physic... hiện toàn bộ
The effects of filler materials on poly(vinyl acetate) emulsion wood adhesives
Tập 28 Số 6 - Trang 326-330 - 1999
Lijun Qiao, Allan J. Easteal, Clive J. Bolt, Philip K. Coveny, Robert A. Franich
Fillers with different chemical properties were used to study their effects on poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) emulsion wood adhesives. The elastoplastic behaviour of the filler treated PVAc emulsions was studied using differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis. The results show that the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the polymer is not changed significantly by the ... hiện toàn bộ
Effect of calcium carbonate filler on polyvinyl acetate emulsion as wood adhesive
Tập 21 Số 10 - Trang 10-11 - 1992
R.M. Mohsen
Calcium carbonate was used as a filler for polyvinyl acetate emulsion for its application as wood adhesive. Different formulations with variable % of filler were prepared and the shear strength of the applied adhesive on wood was measured. It was concluded that after 24 hours the adhesives develop a reasonable strength. It was also recommended to use the filler in the range of 10–20% by weight of ... hiện toàn bộ
Polyurethane resin derived from polyol of palm olein and recycled poly(ethylene terephthalate)
Tập 51 Số 1 - Trang 6-12 - 2022
Abbas Ahmad Adamu, Norazilawati Muhamad Sarih, Seng Neon Gan
PurposePoly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) waste from soft drink bottles was incorporated into palm olein alkyd to produce new polyol for use in polyurethane resins as surface protection on metal surfaces.Design/methodology/approachAlkyd was prepared from palm olein, glycerol and phthalic anhydride. PET underwent simultaneous glycolysis and transesterification reactions with the alkyd. Varying the ... hiện toàn bộ

Winkworth extruder mixer gains benefit of electric drive
- 1993
A new ‘Z’ Blade Extruder Mixer with the benefits of electric drive joins the range of hydraulically driven ‘Z’ blade extruder mixers from Winkworth Machinery Ltd. The EMX machine is of robust construction, yet requires less floor space and offers cost savings in applications where the heavier duty features and automatic variable speed of the hydraulically driven machines are not required.

Mr M. F. Kooistra (54) is now president of FATIPEC for 1979–80. Currently chairman of the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Verftechniek—NVVT, Ir. Mart F. Kooistra took his degree as a chemical engineer in 1950 at Delft Technical University. In the same year he joined Sikkens Paint Company at Sassenheim, Holland, and has been connected with coatings research ever since.
A review of bright metallic powders for inks and paints
Tập 13 Số 2 - Trang 8-9 - 1984
C.A.Smith
This topic covers a range of pigments and powders primarily developed to give lustre and brightness, and yet which have additional properties that enhance their appeal for a wide range of applications. They can be produced in many colours which are based on either nickel, aluminium, bronze or stainless steel.
