A neural network control scheme with fuzzy predictor for ship autopilots is proposed. Parameters of a fuzzy predictor are optimized by using a genetic algorithm. The BP (backpropagation) learning algorithm is used for neural network control. The simulation result has shown that the proposed control scheme is effective.
