Một bệnh nhân nữ 13 tuổi đã xuất hiện triệu chứng mất thị lực không đau và lồi mắt kéo dài trong 18 tháng. Các hình ảnh chẩn đoán cho thấy dấu hiệu rất mạnh của một u kén xương phình mạch (ABC) ở vùng trên ổ mắt, và bệnh nhân đã trải qua phẫu thuật cắt bỏ hoàn toàn. Sau phẫu thuật, bệnh nhân phát triển tình trạng yếu nửa người bên trái. Chụp cắt lớp vi tính mạch máu (CTA) cho thấy hiện tượng tắc nghẽn hoàn toàn động mạch cảnh trong bên phải (ICA). Tình trạng này đã được quản lý bảo tồn, và tình trạng yếu nửa người của bệnh nhân đã cải thiện trong 3 tuần tiếp theo. Báo cáo giải phẫu bệnh cho thấy có sự hiện diện của u xương ác tính với ABC thứ phát, vì vậy bệnh nhân đã được chuyển đến điều trị xạ trị.
