The Situation of Academic Recognition in the European Community

In this article, the authors will depict the NARIC network and its contribution to academic recognition carried out within the universities2 in the countries of the European Community. They will focus on the NARIC document Academic Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications in EC Member States giving an evaluative overview of the contents of this document as far as admission requirements, periods of studies, intermediate and final qualifications (including the doctorate) are concerned and giving a detailed comparative analysis of the contents of the document on the most common, typical final qualifications.
