Sự ảnh hưởng của các giai đoạn của mặt trăng đối với những người mắc rối loạn tâm thần và tần suất nhập viện khẩn cấp và cấp bách tại bệnh viện tâm thần thành phố Penza và vùng Penza (Nga) trong giai đoạn 2018–2019 đã được nghiên cứu. Tần suất nhập viện được đánh giá trong số những người mắc rối loạn tâm thần nặng (với các biểu hiện loạn thần rõ rệt và các biểu hiện cảm xúc cũng như hành vi rõ rệt) trong các giai đoạn khác nhau của mặt trăng: trăng tròn, trăng non, tuần trăng đầu tiên, và tuần trăng cuối. Theo kết quả của nghiên cứu, tần suất nhập viện không khác biệt đáng kể giữa các giai đoạn của mặt trăng (p = 0.4382), điều này phù hợp với dữ liệu của các nghiên cứu quốc tế tương tự.
