Luật Thực hành Thương mại Úc năm 1974 là một loại luật trung tâm tòa án theo kiểu Mỹ. Sau 20 năm, luật này đã đạt được nhiều thành tựu — từ bỏ việc độc quyền mà đạt được một bộ luật chống độc quyền liền mạch tập trung vào sức mạnh thị trường như là khái niệm trung tâm. Luật có một số tính năng đặc trưng: cách tiếp cận định nghĩa thị trường; khả năng cấp phép dựa trên lợi ích công; cách xử lý các hoạt động dọc. Thách thức hiện tại là đưa các lĩnh vực miễn trừ vào phạm vi của Luật và thiết kế một chế độ tương thích cho các dịch vụ công ty và tư nhân hóa.
