Do đó, nghiên cứu hiện tại nhằm mục đích điều tra, trên nền tảng của đại dịch, (1) cách mà các nhu cầu tâm lý cơ bản liên quan đến sự thịnh vượng của sinh viên, (2) cách mà sinh viên nhận thức về sự tương tác trong hệ thống học thuật, và (3) cách họ mong muốn "nền giáo dục mới" sẽ như thế nào. Để đạt được những mục tiêu này, chúng tôi đã thực hiện một khảo sát cắt ngang, bao gồm cả các biện pháp định lượng và các câu hỏi mở định tính và phân phối khảo sát tại một trường đại học Hà Lan (n = 653). Để xác định sức mạnh dự đoán của việc thỏa mãn và thiếu thốn nhu cầu, chúng tôi đã thực hiện các phân tích hồi quy đa biến. Chúng tôi phát hiện rằng việc thỏa mãn và thiếu thốn nhu cầu có mối liên quan đáng kể đến các biện pháp thịnh vượng, trong đó mối quan hệ chỉ liên quan yếu đến sự thịnh vượng của sinh viên. Hơn nữa, sinh viên đã báo cáo rằng các tương tác với giáo viên và bạn bè bị hạn chế, dẫn đến cảm giác không kết nối, cũng như khó khăn trong việc thiết lập hoặc duy trì mối quan hệ. Đối lập với những phát hiện định lượng, sinh viên nhấn mạnh mối quan hệ như một phần thiết yếu, hiện đang thiếu trong trải nghiệm của họ. Họ đã đề xuất một môi trường học tập kết hợp tiềm năng với sự tập trung vào sự gắn kết xã hội. Nghiên cứu này nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng của các kết nối liên nhân trong giáo dục đại học và cung cấp những ý tưởng thực tiễn cho các cấu trúc học thuật sau đại dịch.
