Tóm tắtKể từ khi những cuộc khai quật đầu tiên do Sinoto và Kellum thực hiện vào năm 1964–1965, địa điểm đụn Hane, nằm trên Ua Huka, Marquesas, đã được xem là một địa điểm chủ chốt ở trung tâm Eastern Polynesia và, với ý nghĩa đó, đã được sử dụng trong nhiều mô hình thuộc địa hóa khác nhau. Tuy nhiên, một số vấn đề vẫn còn tồn tại, đặc biệt là do thiếu thông tin đầy đủ về kết quả khai quật ban đầu, và có vẻ như những vấn đề này chỉ có thể được giải quyết với những cuộc điều tra mới.
