Abstract
A small fauna of madrepores has been discovered in limestone lentils in conglomerates in the Culm (Carboniferous) deposits of the Mouthoumet massif (southern France). The discovery suggests that the area was subjected to some uplift during the terminal Visean stage and prior to the major Hercynian movements that resulted in emergence of the mountains.
