Tính Chất Bệnh Lâu Dài và Kết Quả Chức Năng của Viêm Não Nhật Bản ở Trẻ Em: Một Nghiên Cứu Nhóm Tương Lai

Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu này là mô tả tình trạng bệnh tật lâu dài và kết quả chức năng của viêm não Nhật Bản ở trẻ em. Những trường hợp viêm não Nhật Bản được xác nhận qua xét nghiệm đã được đưa vào nghiên cứu từ tháng 1 năm 2016 đến tháng 9 năm 2017 và các trường hợp sống sót đã được theo dõi một cách có hệ thống trong 2,5 năm để ghi nhận các loại bệnh tật khác nhau. Kết quả được đánh giá về mặt chức năng vào lúc xuất viện và trong quá trình theo dõi bằng cách sử dụng điểm số Liverpool. Trong số 56 trẻ em tham gia, có 10 trẻ (17,9%) đã tử vong trong thời gian nằm viện; những triệu chứng nghiêm trọng đã được quan sát thấy ở 17 trẻ (30,4%) khi xuất viện. Tại thời điểm kết thúc nghiên cứu, trong số 37 trẻ được theo dõi, có 23 trẻ (62,2%) hồi phục hoàn toàn, 2 trẻ (5,4%) có triệu chứng nhỏ, 3 trẻ (8,1%) có triệu chứng vừa, và 9 trẻ (24,3%) còn lại bị triệu chứng nặng. Các bệnh tật lâu dài phổ biến bao gồm hành vi bất thường (n=10, 27%), động kinh sau viêm não (n=8, 21,6%), kết quả học tập kém (n=8, 21,6%) và thiếu hụt vận động còn lại (n=7, 18,9%). Sự cải thiện về bệnh tật chủ yếu được ghi nhận trong năm đầu tiên của quá trình theo dõi. Hơn một nửa số trẻ sống sót sau viêm não Nhật Bản đã hồi phục hoàn toàn, hầu hết trong năm đầu tiên sau khi xuất viện.
