Tóm tắt

Tibial pilon fractures pose a difficult challenge for the orthopaedic surgeon. Frequently, in addition to the complexity of the fracture, there is an important involvement of soft tissues. The goal of treatment is to obtain a reconstruction respecting the soft tissue to prevent dangerous complications. External fixation can be used in case of open fractures as well as a first step in a two-stage treatment, and in selected cases as definitive synthesis associated with minimally invasive techniques.
