AbstractThis study proposes to significantly improve the electrical energy storage characteristics of BaTiO3 bulk ceramics. Addition of 3 BaO–3 TiO2–B2O3 glass was done in controlled amounts to study its effect on the ferroelectric response and storage characteristics of vanadium‐doped BaTiO3 samples. The energy density for the composites was calculated using hysteresis loops. It was observed that a significant improvement in the energy storage density can be obtained by addition of 1 % (weight) 3 BaO–3 TiO2–B2O3 glass. The addition of glass in small amounts was also observed to impart additional benefits such as increased saturation polarization and a thermally invariant ferroelectric response.
