Heavy metal concentrations in the German Bight and their correlation with optical parameters of sea water

Correlation studies between heavy metal and optical measurements in the German Bight allow one to distinguish metals, which preferably become adsorbed on suspended particles, from those which react with dissolved organic matter (Gelbstoff). Gelbstoff is an important pollutant carrier.
