Bài báo mô tả trường hợp một cậu bé 17 tuổi được chẩn đoán mắc bệnh cơ tim giãn trong giai đoạn suy tim cuối. Bệnh nhân đã chịu một cơn ngừng tim và được hồi sức bằng oxygen hóa màng ngoài cơ thể trong quá trình hồi sức tim phổi (ECPR). Cậu được duy trì bằng oxygen hóa màng ngoài cơ thể tĩnh mạch động mạch ngoại biên (ECMO) trong 7 ngày trước khi phẫu thuật ghép tim. Cậu đã được xuất viện 1 tháng sau khi ghép tim.
