Mục tiêu: Mục đích của nghiên cứu này là để kiểm tra các yếu tố liên quan đến việc tiếp cận dịch vụ chăm sóc thường xuyên và dịch vụ chăm sóc chuyên khoa cho trẻ em Mississippi có nhu cầu chăm sóc sức khỏe đặc biệt (CSHCN). Phương pháp: Chúng tôi đã phân tích dữ liệu cho CSHCN ở Mississippi từ Khảo sát Quốc gia về Trẻ em có Nhu cầu chăm sóc sức khỏe đặc biệt năm 2001. Trong mô hình đã điều chỉnh hoàn toàn, việc thiếu sự bảo hiểm liên tục là một yếu tố quan trọng liên quan đến việc không nhận được dịch vụ chăm sóc thường xuyên (OR = 7.8; CI = 1.7–35.9) và chăm sóc chuyên khoa (OR = 8.6; CI = 2.0–36.8). Những trẻ em có mức độ nghiêm trọng bệnh tật cao có nhiều khả năng không nhận được dịch vụ chăm sóc thường xuyên hơn so với những trẻ em có mức độ thấp (OR 1.4; CI = 1.1–1.9).
