Dấu Chân Carbon Liên Quan Đến Tiêu Thụ Gỗ Khen Ở Đông Bắc Brazil: Phân Tích Theo Tiêu Chí IPCC 2013 GWP 100 Năm

Gỗ khen thường được sử dụng ở các vùng phát triển, chủ yếu như một nguồn năng lượng chính. Nghiên cứu này đã định lượng và phân tích dấu chân carbon liên quan đến việc tiêu thụ gỗ khen ở vùng Đông Bắc Brazil. Phương pháp Đánh giá Vòng đời (LCA) đã được áp dụng, sử dụng phương pháp đánh giá tác động môi trường IPCC GWP 100 năm và cơ sở dữ liệu EcoInvent, trong phần mềm SimaPro. Việc khai thác sản phẩm rừng (khai thác tự nhiên) và lâm nghiệp đã được so sánh dựa trên dữ liệu có sẵn (1994 và 2013). Kết quả cho thấy việc đốt gỗ khen từ khai thác tự nhiên có dấu chân carbon cao hơn so với lâm nghiệp: 16 so với 10 kg CO2-eq/m3, tương ứng. Bang Rio Grande do Norte đã cho thấy dấu chân carbon trên mỗi diện tích cao nhất liên quan đến khai thác tự nhiên và lâm nghiệp, cho năm 1994. Xét theo dữ liệu gần nhất có sẵn năm 2013, các dấu chân carbon trên mỗi diện tích cao nhất liên quan đến khai thác tự nhiên và lâm nghiệp lần lượt thuộc về bang Ceará và Bahia. Việc định lượng các dấu chân carbon là cực kỳ quan trọng để theo dõi tiến trình trong việc giảm thiểu biến đổi khí hậu, và có thể được sử dụng để xây dựng các báo cáo, rất quan trọng cho việc xây dựng và thực hiện chính sách.
