Trong những năm gần đây, những người thực hành sức khỏe tâm thần đã nghiên cứu cách mà phụ nữ cân bằng giữa công việc và gia đình. Với việc vấn đề này ảnh hưởng đến trải nghiệm của phụ nữ trong môi trường doanh nghiệp cũng như ở nhà, các nhà trị liệu hôn nhân và gia đình đang cố gắng xem xét mối quan tâm này khi điều trị cho khách hàng nữ cả một cách cá nhân và trong các hệ thống quan hệ. Có rất ít bài báo và nghiên cứu xem xét các vấn đề mà nhân viên nữ đối mặt tại nơi làm việc và cách những vấn đề này ảnh hưởng đến quá trình trị liệu. Trong bài viết này, tác giả xem xét các thách thức về tổ chức, xã hội học và văn hóa mà phụ nữ phải đối mặt tại nơi làm việc và áp dụng những lĩnh vực này vào bối cảnh trị liệu.
