Việc thu thập ấu trùng cá liên tục được thực hiện trong suốt 24 giờ từ một nền tảng cầu trên trung tâm của một kênh trong vùng cửa sông Newport phía dưới. Tần suất của ba loài phong phú nhất, Leiostomus xanthurus, Brevoortia tyrannus, và Lagodon rhomboides đã được xem xét trong một phân tích phương sai để thể hiện ảnh hưởng và sự tương tác của các loài, độ sâu, ánh sáng và thủy triều.
