Tóm tắt

Several new genes differentiating the growth habit ofNeurospora crassa were discovered. One of these, clump, was distinguished from the others by the fact that it had no effect onnormal and improved the vigour of the mutantgap, when carried in the same nucleus. The standardnormal stock which had been propagated asexually for several years was found to be heterokaryotic as result of mutations. The following seriation of loci was established for the sex chromosome: (+),gap, spindle-fibre attachment, crisp, pale anddirty.
