Có sự quan tâm ngày càng tăng trong việc sử dụng pipradrol và các dẫn xuất của pipradrol, chẳng hạn như diphenylproplinol [diphenyl-2-pyrrolidinemethanol (D2PM)] và desoxypipradrol [2-diphenylmethylpiperidine (2-DPMP)], như những loại thuốc giải trí.
