Chúng tôi sẽ đề xuất một phương pháp mới để đánh giá độ nhạy của nguồn nước ngầm, mang tên Chỉ số Nhạy cảm - Độ Ô Nhiễm (SICODE). Xuất phát từ giả định cho rằng hóa học đất ảnh hưởng đến chất lượng nước thấm, công cụ địa hóa học như chỉ số độ ô nhiễm của đất (CD) đã được kết hợp với các tham số thủy địa chất nhằm cải thiện chỉ số đã được biết đến trước đây (DRASTIC, Chỉ số Nhạy cảm). Nghiên cứu đã được tiến hành tại nguồn nước ngầm Đồng Bằng Campania (CP), nơi chủ yếu cung cấp hệ thống phân phối nước uống cho Napoli (Nam Ý). Khu vực khảo sát kéo dài từ núi Vesuvius đến khu vực đô thị Napoli và có thể được coi là một phòng thí nghiệm thực địa thú vị để kiểm tra các phương pháp và mô hình thủy địa hóa, vì cả ô nhiễm nhân tạo khuếch tán và các nguồn ô nhiễm tự nhiên (ví dụ như các quá trình tương tác giữa nước ngầm và đá) đều tồn tại song song. Ba mô hình đã được so sánh. Kết quả của chúng tôi cho thấy DRASTIC không phải là mô hình thích hợp nhất để áp dụng cho các môi trường đô thị vì nó không tính đến ảnh hưởng của con người. Chỉ số Nhạy cảm (SI), với việc kết hợp tham số sử dụng đất, đã cho thấy bản đồ chi tiết hơn về mức độ nhạy và phản ánh tốt hơn sự biến đổi địa phương của áp lực con người. Tuy nhiên, phương pháp SICODE được đề xuất hoàn toàn khớp với dấu vân địa hóa của đất. Phân tích độ nhạy đã cho thấy sự biến đổi cao của các tham số do sự không đồng nhất địa phương của các điều kiện hệ thống được phân tích. Một so sánh giữa phân bố nitrat trong nước ngầm và độ nhạy được dự đoán đã cho thấy SICODE cung cấp các dự đoán chính xác hơn so với các phương pháp khác. Nghiên cứu này đã cung cấp bằng chứng rằng việc kết hợp các công cụ thủy địa chất và địa hóa học có thể cải thiện việc đánh giá độ nhạy của nguồn nước ngầm.
