Tóm tắtBệnh viêm túi thừa đại tràng cấp tính là một trong những tình trạng lâm sàng phổ biến nhất mà các bác sĩ phẫu thuật gặp phải trong môi trường cấp cứu. Một hội đồng quốc tế gồm các chuyên gia đa ngành từ Hội đồng Thế giới về Phẫu thuật Cấp cứu (WSES) đã cập nhật các hướng dẫn về quản lý bệnh viêm túi thừa đại tràng cấp tính bên trái (ALCD) dựa trên những tài liệu mới nhất có sẵn. Bản cập nhật bao gồm những thay đổi gần đây được giới thiệu trong quản lý ALCD. Những đổi mới này còn được tích hợp thêm với những tiến bộ trong việc quản lý bệnh viêm túi thừa đại tràng cấp tính bên phải (ARCD), bệnh này phổ biến hơn ALCD ở một số vùng nhất định trên thế giới.
