Mycelial growth, starch degradation ability and aggressiveness of Moniliophthora perniciosa isolates towards cacaoTropical Plant Pathology - Tập 42 - Trang 21-27 - 2016

The variability of Moniliophthora perniciosa, the causal agent of witches’ broom
disease of cacao (Theobroma cacao), was assessed based on measures of (i)
mycelial growth rates (MGR), (ii) area of starch degradation (ASD) and (iii)
aggressiveness towards susceptible and resistant clones. Ninety-six isolates
were obtained from vegetative and flower cushion brooms from five resistant
clones and one ... hiện toàn bộ
ToxA, a significant virulence factor involved in wheat spot blotch disease, exists in the Mexican population of Bipolaris sorokinianaTropical Plant Pathology - Tập 46 - Trang 201-206 - 2020
Lei Wu, Xinyao He, Nerida Lozano, Xu Zhang, Pawan K. Singh
Spot blotch, caused by the pathogen Bipolaris sorokiniana, is an important
foliar disease of wheat in warm and humid regions worldwide. The fungal
virulence factor ToxA interacts with Tsn1 in wheat and leads to a susceptible
reaction. ToxA has been found in B. sorokiniana populations of Australia, the
USA, and India, and here we report its occurrence in Mexico, based on analysis
of a collection of... hiện toàn bộ
Common bacterial blight of beans: an integrated approach to disease management in BrazilTropical Plant Pathology - Tập 47 - Trang 457-469 - 2022
Tadeu Antônio Fernandes da Silva Júnior, Daniele Maria do Nascimento, João César da Silva, José Marcelo Soman, Ricardo Marcelo Gonçalves, Antonio Carlos Maringoni
Common bacterial blight (CBB), caused by Xanthomonas phaseoli pv. phaseoli and
Xanthomonas citri pv. fuscans, is the main bacterial disease of common bean
(Phaseolus vulgaris) in Brazil and in the world. The disease affects the entire
aerial part of the plants, especially in conditions of high temperature and
humidity. Yield losses of up to 70% have been recorded in susceptible bean
cultivars. The... hiện toàn bộ
Optimal conditions for conidial germination and infection of European pear leaves by Diplocarpon mespiliTropical Plant Pathology - Tập 41 - Trang 78-83 - 2016
Claudia C. Nunes, Silvio A. M. Alves, Amauri Bogo, Ricardo T. Casa, Ana B. C. Czermainski, Fabio N. da Silva
The epidemiology of Entomosporium leaf spot (ELS) affecting European pear is
poorly understood, which limits the development of an effective management
strategy. In vitro assays were conducted to study the effect of temperature
levels (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 °C) on Diplocarpon mespili conidial
germination evaluated at different incubation times (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, and
48 h). Inoculation exp... hiện toàn bộ
Novel Pathotypes of Elsinoë australis Associated with Citrus australasica and Simmondsia chinensis in AustraliaTropical Plant Pathology - Tập 40 - Trang 26-34 - 2015
Andrew K. Miles, Yu Pei Tan, Roger G. Shivas, André Drenth
Molecular phylogenetic analysis, morphology and pathogenicity to citrus fruit
were used to study two isolates of Elsinoë australis associated with scab-like
symptoms on a fruit of Citrus australasica (finger lime) and Simmondsia
chinensis (jojoba) in Australia. In addition to being associated with finger
lime, the isolate from finger lime could cause scab symptoms on C. × aurantium
cv. Murcott tan... hiện toàn bộ
Overview of citrus huanglongbing spread and management strategies in BrazilTropical Plant Pathology - Tập 45 - Trang 251-264 - 2020
Renato Beozzo Bassanezi, Sílvio Aparecido Lopes, Marcelo Pedreira de Miranda, Nelson Arno Wulff, Haroldo Xavier Linhares Volpe, Antonio Juliano Ayres
Huanglongbing (HLB) has been a serious threat to the citrus industry worldwide.
After its first report in São Paulo State, the main citrus production area in
Brazil, the disease spread to the States of Minas Gerais, Paraná and Mato Grosso
do Sul. Attempts to cure plants or remiss disease symptoms and damages have been
evaluated and showed to be inefficient and nonviable. The development of
resista... hiện toàn bộ
Seasonal dynamics in leaf viromes of grapevines depicting leafroll syndrome under tropical conditionTropical Plant Pathology - Tập 47 - Trang 635-645 - 2022
V. Kavi Sidharthan, Amitha Mithra Sevanthi, Sureshkumar Venkadesan, Damini Diksha, V. K. Baranwal
Among the grapevine viral diseases, grapevine leafroll disease (GLD) complex is
widespread and causes huge economic losses worldwide. The disease is incited by
several viruses referred as grapevine leafroll-associated viruses (GLRaVs),
either individually or in combinations. Conventional ELISA and real-time PCR
assays have shown the seasonal fluctuation in GLRaV titers in temperate and
sub-tropica... hiện toàn bộ
