Radiation of long waves from Black Sea seismic zonesSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 7 - Trang 315-320 - 1996
S. F. Dotsenko
The paper is concerned with analysis of tsunami wave refraction in the Black
Sea, radiated from six seismic areas. Numerical results have been obtained on
the basis of a radiation model for long wave propagation, with the sources of
tsunamis being pointlike and distributed.
Seasonal and spatial variability of the content of suspended organic substances in the active layer of the Black SeaSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 10 - Trang 419-454 - 2000
Z. P. Burlakova, L. V. Eremeeva, S. K. Konovalov
On the basis of the generalized data of multiannual observations (1985–1994), we
analyze the seasonal variability of the vertical and spatial distributions and
composition (Csos, Nsos, Csos/cha, and C/N) of suspended organic substances
(SOS) in the shelf zone and in the upper active layer of the abyssal part of the
Black Sea. The results of our analysis enable us to conclude that only a narrow
coa... hiện toàn bộ
Creation of the database of monitoring of the Black Sea by using driftersSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 19 - Trang 170-185 - 2009
Yu. B. Ratner, A. P. Tolstosheev, A. L. Kholod, S. V. Motyzhev
We consider some specific features of creation of the database according to the
results of drifter experiments carried out in the Black Sea in 2001–2006. The
general statistical information on all buoy studies in the sea is presented. The
criteria used to filter the primary data are suggested. The principles of
formation and structuring of the drifter database are presented. As an example,
we desc... hiện toàn bộ
Silicon in waters of the Sevastopol Bay in spring 2008Springer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 20 - Trang 196-206 - 2010
D. S. Khoruzhii, S. K. Konovalov
On the basis of field studies executed in May 2008, we performed the analysis of
the distribution of silicon in waters of the Sevastopol Bay under conditions of
the formation of a seasonal thermocline. We discuss differences in the
distributions of silicon in the surface and bottom layers, including the zone of
mixing of river and sea waters. We noticed a significant difference in values of
the co... hiện toàn bộ
Numerical modelling of the propagation of tsunami waves in the crimean peninsula shelf zoneSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 9 - Trang 323-331 - 1998
S. F. Dotsenko
The paper analyses the effect of non-linearity and bottom friction on
propagation of tsunami-type surface waves from the abyssal part of the Black Sea
towards the shelf zone. The study relies, on numerical solution of
unidimensional non-linear equations for long waves, using the finite-difference
technique. Numerical experiments have been conducted for the bottom profile
continental slope and shel... hiện toàn bộ
“Sigma-1” Measuring Complex for the Investigation of Small-Scale Characteristics of Hydrophysical Fields in the Upper Layer of the SeaSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 15 - Trang 311-322 - 2005

We describe a new measuring complex aimed at the investigation of small-scale
processes in the upper active layer of the sea. The necessity of creation of a
complex of this sort is justified and a circle of problems that can be solved
with the help of this complex is described. The scales of resolution of
horizontal and vertical inhomogeneities in measuring in the mode of vertical
probing are theo... hiện toàn bộ
The study of tidal currents in the seamount area in a continuously stratified oceanSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 2 - Trang 247-255 - 1991
V. V. Fomin, L. V. Cherkesov
In the framework of the linear theory and without using the hydrostatics
approximation, we study the wave motions produced by a barotropic tide impinging
upon a bottom topography feature in a continuously stratified ocean. Numerical
techniques are used to estimate the effects of the stratification and the
Coriolis parameter on the tidal flows in the seamount area.
The study of the instability of currents in the Bosphorus StraitSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 7 - Trang 331-338 - 1996
V. A. Ivanov, N. M. Stashchuk, T. V. Khmara
The baroclinic instability of the Bosphorus currents is studied in terms of
minor disturbances. The Bosphorus current and undercurrent depend on the
seasonal variability of the strait’s dynamics manifesting itself in the
intensification of flows and in the modification of their configuration. In the
frame of the linear statement of the problem, the spatial and temporal
characteristics of the distu... hiện toàn bộ
Investigation of the characteristics of surge phenomena in the Sea of AzovSpringer Science and Business Media LLC - Tập 18 - Trang 1-13 - 2008
V. A. Ivanov, V. V. Fomin, L. V. Cherkesov, T. Ya. Shul’ga
We present the results of numerical simulation of currents and sea level for the
Sea of Azov. In calculations, we use a three-dimensional nonlinear mathematical
model taking into account the tangential wind stresses. We present the results
of numerical analysis of the fields of currents and the amplitudes of
oscillations of the sea level at the coastal stations as functions of the
maximum velocity... hiện toàn bộ
