Inhibition Effect of Binary Mixtures of Metal Salts on Aluminum Corrosion in Hydrochloric ElectrolytesProtection of Metals - Tập 37 - Trang 500-505 - 2001

The protection effects of tin, zinc, nickel, iron, and copper chlorides and their binary mixtures with cadmium chloride or thallium nitrate were compared, their effective concentrations being equal. In some cases, the mixtures proved to be better inhibitors than their constituents. Different approaches to the estimation of the mutual effects of the salts in their binary mixtures are discussed.
Kinetics of codeposition of copper with N-methylpyrrolidone in sulfate water-dimethylsulfoxide electrolytesProtection of Metals - Tập 42 - Trang 588-595 - 2006

The electrolyte composition is found to affect the composition and density of the adsorption layer on the electrode. The lowest process rate is observed in the water structure stabilization range under conditions of the preferential adsorption of the additive and organic solvent molecules. The electroreduction of copper(II) ions involves the stage of their penetration through the adsorption film, ...... hiện toàn bộ
Protection of systems with faulty sealing by volatile corrosion inhibitorsProtection of Metals - Tập 43 - Trang 255-258 - 2007

Processes that initiate corrosion in systems with faulty sealing are analyzed in terms of a mathematical model developed to describe metal protection with volatile inhibitors in such systems. It was demonstrated that the protection times are often determined by the kinetics of dilution of an inhibitor with water coming from the atmosphere. The ways of enhancing the vapor-phase protection are propo...... hiện toàn bộ

The corrosion behavior of aCt3-type steel in hydrogen sulfide media, including those containing CO2, is studied. The inhibition effects of a volatile, water-soluble inhibitor (IPKhAN-72) and the starting aliphatic amine for its synthesis are compared. IPKhAN-72 is found to be more effective, especially in the presence of CO2. In CO2-free hydrogen sulfide media, IPKhAN-72 functions as an anodic inh...... hiện toàn bộ
Interrelation between partial reactions during alternating-current polarization of copper in chloride environmentsProtection of Metals - Tập 42 - Trang 144-148 - 2006

Infralow-frequency alternating-current polarization of a copper electrode in chloride environments causes an increase in the pH of a near-electrode layer, as well as the concentration of hydroxide ions adsorbed at the electrode, during the cathodic half-period. This facilitates the oxidation of copper during the subsequent anodic half-period and changes the character of the oxidation products, tha...... hiện toàn bộ

Results of testing for resistance to atmospheric corrosion in a humid-tropical climate (in experimental chambers and under outdoor conditions) have been performed for templates of ribbed pipes made of a carbon steel with various types of anticorrosion (paint, diffusional, metallic) coatings. An optimum type of coating has been determined, its properties have been investigated, and the optimum thic...... hiện toàn bộ
