Spreading of the Amur River plume in the Amur Liman, Sakhalin Gulf, and the Strait of TartaryPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 57 - Trang 376-382 - 2017
A. A. Osadchiev
This work focuses on a study of the Amur plume spreading during ice-free periods
in the Amur Liman and adjacent areas of Sakhalin Gulf and the Strait of Tartary.
It was found from MERIS/EnviSat satellite imagery, MERRA wind reanalysis, and
Amur discharge data in 2002–2011 that regular transport of Amur plume waters
from the Amur Liman to Sakhalin Gulf occurs in June–October. This process is
caused... hiện toàn bộ
Laboratory modeling of the structure of a thermal bar and related circulation in a basin with a sloping bottomPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 48 - Trang 327-339 - 2008
I. P. Chubarenko, N. Yu. Demchenko
Development of a thermal bar in a laboratory flume with an inclined bottom
(3.7°–12°) under the conditions of cooling/heating of the water with a
temperature close to that of the maximal density is studied. The structure of
the temperature field and currents during different stages of the circulation is
examined: (i) formation of an along-slope gravity current, (ii) generation of a
subsurface jet,... hiện toàn bộ
Plunging current caused by nonmonotonous water density dependence on temperaturePleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 51 - Trang 574-581 - 2011
V. I. Bukreev
The results of laboratory experiments are presented in which a surface jet of
fresh water flowed on the inclined bottom of a freshwater tank. The main
attention was focused on the plunging of the inflowing water. It is shown that
plunging can occur not only in the case when the density of the inflowing water
is initially greater than the water density in the tank. Under specific
conditions, a jet ... hiện toàn bộ
Numerical simulation and spectral analysis of the November 15, 2006, tsunami in the Kurile-Kamchatka regionPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 50 - Trang 449-458 - 2010
L. I. Lobkovsky, R. Kh. Mazova, B. A. Kisel’man, A. O. Morozova
Numerical simulation of the earthquake and tsunami of November 15, 2006, and the
spectral analysis of the distribution of the wave fields in the basin made it
possible to analyze in detail the tsunami generation by a seismic source and the
pattern of the wave propagation through the Bussol Strait, as well as to
estimate the influence of this strait on the further propagation of the waves in
the ba... hiện toàn bộ
Environmental changes in the neogene and the biotic responsePleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 51 - Trang 306-314 - 2011
M. S. Barash
Among the abiotic factors that determined via the paleoceanographic processes
development and evolution of the oceanic biota in the Neogene, noteworthy are
the tectonic, volcanic, climatic and extraterrestrial events. The most important
tectonic events of such kind include the subsidence of the Faroe-Iceland
