Abstract—In response to the kind invitation of the Editorial Board of the
journal “Izvestiya, Physics of the Solid Earth” to take part in the discussion
concerning the methodology of statistical study of correlations between
geophysical processes, we have done a small research and written this paper.
Being predominantly geomagnetologists, we focused on the topical question of a
correlation between... hiện toàn bộ
Structure formation in the rift zones and in the tranvers offset of the spreading axes: Results of physical modelingPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 46 - Trang 412-418 - 2010
A. L. Grokholskii, E. P. Dubinin
The paper presents the results of experimental modeling of the specific features
in the structure formation within the rift zones and also within lateral
displacements of the spreading axes such as transform faults and nontransform
displacements. The experiments were conducted on materials consisting of liquid
and solid hydrocarbons; the similarity conditions were taken into account. The
parameter... hiện toàn bộ
Acoustic emission phenomena due to plasticity of rocksPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 42 - Trang 809-814 - 2006
B. Ts. Manzhikov
Acoustic emission patterns arising at the stage of plastic deformation (creep
and relaxation) of plastic and brittle rocks are discussed. It is suggested that
these patterns are related to the spatial localization of plastic deformation
and strain hardening of rocks under loads exceeding the yield strength.
Resonance of liquid core according to the data of tidal gravity observations in TalgarPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 45 - Trang 839-844 - 2009
S. M. Molodenskii, M. S. Molodenskaya
The method of contrast separation of wavelets near the resonance frequency of
liquid core is proposed, based on the elimination of principle waves from the
series being analyzed with the subsequent automatic minimization of the noise
level and with the repeated spectral analysis of the residual curve. The
minimization of noise is achieved due to (1) the sliding spectral analysis with
automatic ste... hiện toàn bộ
Approaches to the estimation of lateral heterogeneity of the upper mantle by electromagnetic methodsPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 43 - Trang 245-250 - 2007
V. V. Plotkin, A. Yu. Belinskaya, P. A. Gavrysh
The paper addresses the construction of maps showing lateral distributions of
the apparent electrical conductivity in various time periods from data of the
worldwide network of observatories. The lateral distribution of the apparent
conductivity of the Earth is determined by a self-consistent estimation of
variations in three components of the geomagnetic field recorded at all
stations. The result... hiện toàn bộ
