Patterns in the daily periodicity of low magnitude seismicity in KamchatkaPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 5 - Trang 129-143 - 2011
V. A. Gavrilov, V. I. Zhuravlev, Yu. V. Morozova
A daily periodicity in small (K ≤ 8. 0) Kamchatka earthquakes has been detected,
with the maximum occurring during the nighttime. The effect was not observed
throughout the area of study, but only in several zones. We show that the
results are not affected by human and weather factors. A hypothesis is put
forward to explain the physical causes of the effect, viz., that the daily
periodicity of sma... hiện toàn bộ
Estimation of total discharges of volcanic ash using atmospheric-transport modelsPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 9 - Trang 30-47 - 2015
K. B. Moiseenko, N. A. Malik
We propose a method for calculating the total mass and grain-size composition of
the ash that enters the atmosphere during explosive eruptions based on direct
numerical modeling of transport and precipitation of ash particles and
measurements of deposited mass in the ashfall area. The solution reduces to an
overdetermined problem in a single parameter, viz., discharge rate as estimated
by least sq... hiện toàn bộ
The geological and geomorphic impact of catastrophic landslides in the Geyser Valley of Kamchatka: Aerial photogrammetryPleiades Publishing Ltd - Tập 3 - Trang 314-325 - 2009
V. N. Dvigalo, I. V. Melekestsev
We consider the results of the 19730–2008 aerial photogeodetic surveys conducted
in the famous Geyser Valley of Kamchatka by the Institute of Volcanology (IV) of
the Far East Division (FED) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), in
1973–1993, and by its successor, the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology
(IV&S) FED RAS, in 2007–2008, in cooperation with the Chair of Photogrammetry at
the Nov... hiện toàn bộ
The influence of water on the temperature of amphibole stability in meltsPleiades Publishing Ltd - - 2009
A. P. Maksimov
The influence of water concentration on the crystallization temperature of
amphibole in a melt was analyzed theoretically using the model of an ideal melt.
A general-type equation has been derived that can explain the presence of the
isobaric temperature maximum at the amphibole stability curve by invoking the
twofold influence of water on the equilibrium between amphibole and the melt: in
accorda... hiện toàn bộ
