Impact of Logistics on Technical Efficiency of World Production (2007–2012)Networks and Spatial Economics - Tập 16 - Trang 981-995 - 2015
Pablo Coto-Millán, Xose Luís Fernández, Miguel Ángel Pesquera, Manuel Agüeros
This research uses a production function of the type proposed by Mankiw et al.
(1992) to study the effect of logistics and information and communication
technologies (ITC) on domestic technical efficiency using stochastic frontier
analysis for thirty-four countries over the period 2007–2012. We find that
logistics and ICT are important channels for improving efficiency. This paper
contributes to t... hiện toàn bộ
Rumor Transmission in Online Social Networks Under Nash Equilibrium of a Psychological Decision GameNetworks and Spatial Economics - Tập 22 - Trang 831-854 - 2022
Wenjia Liu, Jian Wang, Yanfeng Ouyang
This paper investigates rumor transmission over online social networks, such as
those via Facebook or Twitter, where users liberally generate visible content to
their followers, and the attractiveness of rumors varies over time and gives
rise to opposition such as counter-rumors. All users in social media platforms
are modeled as nodes in one of five compartments of a directed random graph:

Sustainable Management of Remanufacturing in Dynamic Supply ChainsNetworks and Spatial Economics - Tập 20 - Trang 703-731 - 2020
Sung Hoon Chung, Robert D. Weaver, Hyun Woo Jeon
Closed-loop production systems encompass all processes for returning,
remanufacturing, recycling, discarding, and repackaging products. These elements
form the core of sustainable manufacturing by managing what otherwise would be
waste to enable reuse and by controlling its associated pollution. This paper
presents the general management model of sustainable remanufacturing within a
dynamic closed... hiện toàn bộ
The q-Ad Hoc Hub Location Problem for Multi-modal NetworksNetworks and Spatial Economics - Tập 17 - Trang 1015-1041 - 2017
Hyun Kim, Megan S. Ryerson
This research proposes a spatial optimization problem over a multi-modal
transportation network, termed the q-Ad-hoc hub location problem (AHLP), to
utilize alternative hubs in an ad-hoc manner in the wake of a hub outage. The
model aims to reorganize the spatial structure of disrupted networks: unaffected
hubs are utilized as ad-hoc hubs through which alternative routes connect supply
and demand ... hiện toàn bộ
Congestion Pricing with Heterogeneous Travelers: A General-Equilibrium Welfare AnalysisNetworks and Spatial Economics - Tập 4 - Trang 135-160 - 2004
André de Palma, Robin Lindsey
Traffic congestion pricing is studied using a general-equilibrium framework that
incorporates public goods expenditures, an income tax, a government budget
constraint, and preferences for equity. Individuals differ with respect to
wages, values of travel time, and the congestion characteristics of their
vehicles. Formulae for optimal tolls are derived and decomposed to reveal the
separate influenc... hiện toàn bộ
Competitive Location and Pricing on Networks with Random UtilitiesNetworks and Spatial Economics - Tập 16 - Trang 837-863 - 2015
Dominik Kress, Erwin Pesch
In this paper we analyze the effect of including price competition into a
classical (market entrant’s) competitive location problem. The multinomial logit
approach is applied to model the decision process of utility maximizing
customers. We provide complexity results and show that, given the locations of
all facilities, a fixed-point iteration approach that has previously been
introduced in the li... hiện toàn bộ
Advances in Dynamic Traffic Assgmnt: TACNetworks and Spatial Economics - Tập 15 - Trang 617-634 - 2014
Wen-Long Jin
Traditionally traffic assignment problems (TAPs) have been formulated as
non-cooperative games (NCGs), and Wardrop’s user equilibrium (UE) of a TAP as
Nash equilibrium (NE) of the corresponding NCG. In this study, in contrast, we
propose a mapping from finite NCGs (F-NCGs) to asymmetric TAPs (A-TAPs) on a
two-way or urban network, in which the travel cost of one link depends on flows
on other link... hiện toàn bộ
Integrated Inventory Control and Facility Location Decisions in a Multi-Echelon Supply Chain Network with HubsNetworks and Spatial Economics - Tập 13 Số 4 - Trang 497-514 - 2013
Shahabi, Mehrdad, Akbarinasaji, Shirin, Unnikrishnan, Avinash, James, Rachel
This paper develops mathematical models to coordinate facility location and
inventory control for a four-echelon supply chain network consisting of multiple
suppliers, warehouses, hubs and retailers. The hubs help in reducing
transportation costs by consolidating products from multiple warehouses and
directing the larger shipments to the retailer. The integrated models studied in
this paper simult... hiện toàn bộ
