Polymer-diamond composites based on detonation nanodiamonds. Part 1
Journal of Superhard Materials - Tập 29 - Trang 1-11 - 2007
V. Yu. Dolmatov
The paper demonstrates the efficiency of using detonation nanodiamonds in polymer films and rubbers based on composite plastics (glass thread + epoxy resin ED-20), polyamide, fluoroplastic, polyfluorinated elastomers. Adding 1–5 wt % diamond containing mixture to the above-mentioned polymers is shown to provide a 1.5–3.0 times higher rupture strength, enhance attrition resistance and tearing strength by a factor of 2–3, and ensure 30–50% faster polymerization. The use of nanodiamonds has allowed practical implementation of the difficult-to-achieve effect of providing high strength characteristics, while retaining elasticity at the same level as in unfilled elastomers.
An experimental study of the influence of tool material and fine turning conditions on the level of acoustic emission signals
Journal of Superhard Materials - Tập 38 - Trang 51-57 - 2016
L. N. Devin, S. V. Rychev
The paper addresses the influence of cutting conditions on acoustic emission signals in fine turning of aluminum alloys. Each AE signal was split into two sections: the first one is associated mostly with the chip formation and the second one with the tool–workpiece friction. The tool materials were single crystals of natural and synthetic diamond as well as hardmetal WC–6Co. The experimental data demonstrate that in diamond turning the main signal is emitted during the chip formation, while in the case of hardmetal turning the portion of the signal emitted due to the tool flank friction is often larger and depends on the cutting conditions.

On the basis of detonation nanodiamond and doxorubicin antitumor drug a nanocomplex with magnetic properties of a soft ferromagnetic has been produced by mechano-magnetochemical synthesis. The combined action of the synthesized nanocomplex and local radio-frequency hyperthermia has been shown to initiate the tendency for an increase of the growth inhibition of Walker-256 carcinosarcoma as compared to the monoeffects of the nanocomplex and officinal doxorubicin.

The influence of wear on stresses in PCD inserts
Journal of Superhard Materials - Tập 29 - Trang 390-393 - 2007
L. N. Devin, N. E. Stakhniv, A. G. Sulima
The paper addresses the behavior of maximum stresses on the tool face and flank and the tool failure probability with increasing wear. The maximum tool life is calculated from the wear rate diagram. The authors provide some research findings on the influence of a Ni-resist cast iron embedded in the piston on the wear resistance of a PCD insert.
On melting of B4C boron carbide under pressure
Journal of Superhard Materials - Tập 34 - Trang 211-213 - 2012
V. A. Mukhanov, P. S. Sokolov, V. L. Solozhenko
The pressure dependence of melting temperatures for boron carbide and B4C-carbon eutectic has been studied up to 8 GPa, and it was found that in both cases the melting curves exhibit negative slope (−13 ± 6 K/GPa), that is indicative of higher density of the melt as compared to the solid phase.

Formation of Layer WC-(Co,Ni,Al) Structure on the Cutting Plate Surface of WC-7(W,Ti)C-10Co Cemented Carbide in the Contact Area with Ni3Al Melt
Journal of Superhard Materials - Tập 41 - Trang 149-156 - 2019
M. M. Prokopiv
It reported that a new type of the structure was found on the cutting plate surface of the WC-7(W,Ti)C-10Co cemented carbide of T5K10 brand after contact with the Ni3Al melt at 1530°C in a vacuum, which includes external WC-(Co,Ni,Al) and intermediate WC-(W,Ti)C-(Co,Ni,Al) layers with varying chemical and phase composition by thickness. The maximum content and dimensions on the Co-based phase are characteristic of the structure on the boundary of the outer and transition layers, which by 1.7 and 2 times, respectively, exceed the similar indicators in the basic structure of this sample. The formation of such a structure occurs by the output of W, C and the Co-based phase from the volume on the surface of the plate and the subsequent absorption of it by N and Al from the Ni3Al melt. It is shown that in the formed layer structure on the plate surface there is a residual microporosity but less than that in the basic structure outside the surface layer, which also decreased in comparison with the level of microporosity in the structure of the initial plate.
