The tetraphyllidean larvae increased in volume, when transferred to dilute
sea-water. However there is a decrease in volume in 50% sea-water. The
conductivity of the medium shows a slight decrease both in 50% and 25%
sea-water, indicating the uptake of salts from the external medium. In 10%
sea-water the conductivity of the medium goes up steadily.
Changes in RNA, proteins, total free amino acid, ammonia and urea levels were
measured in the cerebral, pleuropedal and visceral ganglia of normally active
and nine months aestivated snails. RNA, proteins and total free amino acid
levels increased on aestivation. Ammonia level showed a decrease on aestivation
whereas the level of urea increased in the pleuropedal and visceral ganglia.
However, a d... hiện toàn bộ
Heteronereids ofPlatynereis sp. swarm in the Madras Harbour during the new moon
in the months of March, June and September. An interval of three lunar months is
observed between successive swarms. Swarming takes place in the night, between 7
and 10p.m. corresponding to the period of maximum high tide; it may occur on the
new moon night as well as on one night previous or after. The Heteronereids a... hiện toàn bộ
The paper is concerned with the interactions of salicylaldoxime with trivalent
transition metal ions to yield di-, tri-, tetra- and hexanuclear complexes
together with their low-lying electronic structures. Tri- and tetranuclear
complexes are found to exhibit spin frustration. The importance of isostructural
series of compounds with varyingd n electron configurations is indicated.

A study has been made of the rate of liberation of cystine and amino nitrogen
from eight proteins during successive digestion by pepsin and trypsin. Assuming
the specificity of the Sullivan reaction it can be concluded that no free
cystine is present in peptic digests. The same reaction shows that cystine is
rapidly set free during the action of trypsin. From the vegetable proteins
(edestin, gliad... hiện toàn bộ
