Giả khớp cổ xương đùi ở những bệnh nhân trẻ tuổi luôn là một vấn đề khó khăn đối với các bác sĩ phẫu thuật. Nhiều quy trình phẫu thuật nhằm giải quyết các vấn đề sinh học hoặc cơ học tại điểm giả khớp đã được mô tả, và hầu hết trong số đó có kết quả biến đổi. Tăng cường sinh học biệt lập thường liên quan đến kết quả kém, và một số kỹ thuật như ghép mạch máu có thể yêu cầu kiến thức chuyên môn không thường xuyên có sẵn. Phẫu thuật cắt xương vỏ ngoài nhằm mục đích điều chỉnh cơ chế gãy xương bất thường liên quan đến gãy cổ xương đùi. Bằng cách thay đổi cách thức truyền lực qua điểm giả khớp, lực cắt sẽ được chuyển thành lực nén dẫn đến liên kết xương nhanh chóng mà không cần ghép xương. Mặc dù các nguyên tắc là hợp lý và đã được mô tả từ lâu, nhưng các khía cạnh kỹ thuật đã tiến triển theo thời gian. Nhiều cải tiến đã được mô tả để khắc phục những thiếu sót như sự không đồng đều trong chiều dài chi, giảm độ lệch xương đùi, thay đổi trục cơ học và kiến trúc tổng thể của phần trên xương đùi. Trong bài đánh giá này, chúng tôi nhìn lại những nguyên tắc cơ bản và tài liệu gần đây về kết quả của phẫu thuật cắt xương vỏ ngoài kiểu valgus cho giả khớp cổ xương đùi. Chúng tôi cũng nhấn mạnh sự cần thiết quan trọng của việc lập kế hoạch phẫu thuật chính xác và việc thực hiện phẫu thuật. Cuối cùng, chúng tôi phát triển các cải tiến kỹ thuật đã xảy ra theo thời gian nhằm nâng cao kết quả chức năng và giảm thiểu biến chứng cũng như kết quả kém sau khi thực hiện phẫu thuật cắt xương vỏ ngoài.
