Các trung gian lipid trong quá trình tổng hợp triacylglycerol (TAGs) và lipolysis trong tế bào chất béo ảnh hưởng đến con đường tín hiệu insulin nội bào và sự phát triển của tình trạng kháng insulin. Mẫu sinh thiết mô mỡ dưới da và mô mỡ omental đã được thu thập từ 64 cá nhân béo phì đã được đo lường lâm sàng trong quá trình phẫu thuật giảm cân. TAGs được chiết xuất từ mô mỡ bằng phương pháp Bligh và Dyer, sau đó được phân tích bằng sắc ký lỏng hiệu năng cao đảo pha không chứa nước và thu thập dữ liệu khối phổ toàn phần và MS/MS phụ thuộc vào dữ liệu trên thiết bị LTQ dual cell linear ion trap.
