1DEBORAH MURDOCH EATON, MBBS, MD, MRCP, FRCPCH, is Professor of Medical Education in Leeds, and chairs the Faculty International Committee. She has led implementation of an 'internationalisation' strategy for the faculty, and has key role in developing global health teaching as a feature of the medical curriculum in Leeds. Her National Teaching Fellowship funds both developmental work with a number of African Medical schools, and an international project on generic learning skills on entry to medical school.

3NIGEL BAX, BSc (Hons), LRCP, MRCS, MBBS, MRCP, Phd, FRCP, FFOM, is Professor of Medical Education in Sheffield and has worked extensively with the WHO and British Council overseas as well as having been a consultant to a number of medical schools in the Middle East, Asia and Australia. He leads the MBChB Programme in Sheffield.

5TONY REDMOND, OBE, MD, FRCP, FRCS, FCEM, FIMCRCSEd, DMCC, is Professor of International Emergency Medicine, Manchester and, co-Director Humanitarian & Conflict Response Institute. In addition to his key role as Hospital Dean and lead for Internationalism in Manchester, he has provided and co-ordinated humanitarian assistance on behalf of the UN, WHO, IOM and UK Governments.
