Quản lý chất lượng tổng thể (TQM) được công nhận rộng rãi như một yếu tố thúc đẩy cải thiện hiệu suất trong ngành xây dựng. Bài báo này trình bày những phát hiện thực nghiệm từ tám tổ chức hợp đồng đã áp dụng các thực tiễn TQM để đáp ứng các áp lực cạnh tranh và môi trường. Sử dụng mô hình NIES “Cách Thực Hiện” do Chương trình Mở Rộng Ngành Quốc Gia của Chính phủ Australia phát triển, bài báo mô tả những cân nhắc thực tiễn. Các phát hiện từ nghiên cứu trường hợp cho thấy rằng khi thực hiện TQM, các nhà thầu phải điều chỉnh văn hóa tổ chức của họ phù hợp với các mục tiêu của chương trình TQM.
