The keys to turbo-charging intrinsic motivation
Tóm tắt
Discusses the extent to which each individual tends to have a set of activities that they are inherently motivated to pursue and, when these motivations are harnessed, the individuals are happy, energetic and creative. Explains that there are many different ways of identifying these innate motivations, including specific books or the help of a professional consultant. Lists briefly some of the widely known theories of motivation and points to the critical success factors (CSFs) that individuals should take into account. Suggests that it is possible to analyse a person’s motivation into a desired reward, including the subject matter the person enjoys working with, or through the circumstances that motivates the individual and the ways in which the person best relates to other people. Concludes that motivational theory cannot provide a complete insight into what motivates a worker, but it can help if a way can be found to identify which activities will provide a person with the greatest happiness and success
