Các vi hình điện tử của protein lớp HPI từ màng tế bào của Micrococcus radiodurans được nhuộm âm và bóng xoay đã được trung bình bằng phương pháp này, và cấu trúc chiếu được mô tả với độ phân giải khoảng 1·9 nm.
